Ceri wrote: "Really excited to read this. I'm a huge Stephen King fan but have been deliberately avoiding this because I have a clown phobia. Time to finally bite the bullet."I feel like this book is the reason for clown phobia. It's one of those books that I think many now-considered-cliche horror tropes was born out of.

I read this recently too and thought it was great! Another club member, Mariah, has a bookclub currently reading this in October: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/....
Sarah wrote: "Did we vote on November books yet? It's Sunday, my lazy brain is drawing a blank."Just opened polls here!
I'm almost done and LOVING IT. I think sometimes the sode stories of the characters get to be a bit much... if and when I get bored of those parts I just skim BUT there's so much cool stuff going on I hate to miss even a word.
Welcome, Suhaila, Adrienne, and Elvira!Elvira - where in Minnesota? A couple of friends of mine are moving to Duluth!
Elvira wrote: "New here. Can you explain what the buddy read is about?"Every once in a while we have group interest in reading a short story or something else relevant that we add on top of the regular monthly reads. We add as a "buddy read" on the side.
It is not clearly defined what counts as a buddy read or not, so I understand the confusion!! It is purposefully undefined.
Hello all! Starting up the monthly discussions for December 2017 book-of-the-month suggestions. This discussion is for a brand new category called BOOKSHELF CATCH-UP.This is a catch-up book club, after all. For this category, you can nominate any book that the group has previously read. For a list of books that the group has previously read and discussed, please see the bookshelf.
I'll start off by suggesting a group read that I personally missed - The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway.
Hello all! Starting up the monthly discussions for December 2017 book-of-the-month suggestions. This discussion is for the CLASSICS CATEGORY.As a reminder, books that qualify for this category must have a publication date 1969 and before. If the book you wish to nominate was published in 1970 or after, please make your suggestion on the Modern Classics/Popular Reads thread.
Will start off by suggesting The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien.
