Please make sure you update the total at the top of your post; if you do not I might not have the right number in the leaderboard summary below!
Also, please make sure to edit your original post, do NOT comment again for every new book you wish to add to the challenge. Thank you!

The goal is very simple:
Read 26 books, each one starting with a different letter of the alphabet.
The How-To/Basic Rules
1. How to score:
To start, comment on this thread with English Alphabet (see below as an example).
When you finish reading a book starting with a particular letter, you need to do two things.
First, score your book! Next to the applicable letter, type
a. the name of the book, and
b. the date you finished reading the book.
Second, update your score! At the top of your comment, post your score out of 26 (ex. 3 letters read would be 3/26).
You should EDIT YOUR PREVIOUS COMMENT, please do not start a new comment.
2. To edit your challenge score/edit your comment:
a. Find you comment in the challenge thread.
b. On the bottom right of your comment, there should be four hyperlinks: "reply | edit | delete | flag". Select "edit".
c. Add your completed book per above instructions.
d. Click "edit post" once you are done.
3. Which books count for which letters?
Please use the FIRST LETTER OF THE FIRST WORD of a book title as the letter you score for.
Exception 1: "The" and "A" do NOT count for "T" and "A". Please use the SECOND word in the title. (ex. The Book Thief should score for the letter "B".)
Exception 2: If you read a book in a foreign language, how you score the book is up to you - aka you can use the English translation title, or the edition's title. Similar "The" and "A" rules apply (ex. El Cuento de la Criada, or The Handmaid's Tale in Spanish, can count as "H" or "C" depending on which edition you link to your comment.)
Exception 3: If you read a book with a title that starts with or is a number (ex. 1984, 1Q84, 2001: A Space Odyssey, etc.), consider this your WILD CARD - you can use that book for any letter in the alphabet.
4. When can I join?
You can join the challenge at ANY TIME.
Challenge runs from 1/1/18 - 12/31/18.
If/when you complete the Alphabet, you win a (virtual) can of alphabet soup and your name in the EHRTBM Hall of Fame!!
