This challenge will run from 24:00 (midnight) EST January 10, 2018 – 24:00 EST February 24, 2018.

We’ve been talking a lot about this in the group’s Suggestion Box, excited to have it up and running.
If you participated in the Hogwarts House Cup Challenge the process here will be very similar. Athletes can join at ANY time between now and the end of the competition on 2/24.
HOW TO COMPETE
A. Select a country to compete for.
You can compete for whichever country you choose!
You do not have to choose your home country if you do not want to. The only restriction is that you must choose a currently recognized/existing country (aka can’t compete for “Narnia”).
B. How to compete for your country / comment instructions.
Comment on this thread with books you have read. In your post, please include the following or your books may not be scored:
1. Your name (please make it unique – add a last initial, last name, or whatever you want, we have lots of Sarah’s and Ashley’s and Amanda’s)
2. Your country (the one you selected to compete for)
3. Name of book you read
4. Read date (must be completed between January 11 and February 24)
5. Page count of book (see below for page count instructions)
Different from some of the other challenges running right now, please START A NEW POST for each book you read and include all of the above info in each post. Thank you!
C. How to decide your page count.
If hardcopy, use the number of pages in the edition of the book that you read.
If electronic (kindle, nook, etc.), use the number of pages from the kindle edition.
If you listened to a book on tape, use the number of pages from the most popular edition on Goodreads (when you search a book, the most popular edition is the default).
No genre or page length restrictions, and can be book club group reads OR books you've read outside of the group.
4. How to "qualify" as an athlete.
Very easy - just read a book!
Show your support for your country and feel free to comment with your allegiance! Just note that athletes/countries won't hit the score board until a book is read.

I would love to I have so many Nonfiction books gathering dust

I don't really remember how I felt about it other than thinking it was an interesting storyline.... I think I saw it the year it came out so 7 years ago. I do remember a few scenes very clearly for being jarring (not in a violent way, but in a dramatic/plot-twisty/heartbreaking way).
I'll definitely be rewatching after reading.

My 5 oldest TBR books:
1. Added Jun 05, 2014: Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut
2. Added Jun 09, 2014: V for Vendetta by Alan Moore
3. Added Jun 10, 2014: Night by Elie Wiesel
4. Added Jun 10, 2014: Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
5. Added Jun 10, 2014: Brave New World / Brave New World Revisited by Aldous Huxley

The goal of the challenge is very simple:
Find the 5 oldest books on your To-Be-Read (TBR) list and read them!
HOW TO PLAY:
1. How to find your 5 oldest TBR books:
Go to your personal bookshelf (using "My Books" link at the top of the page) and then your "Want-to-Read" shelf - this is your TBR shelf. [Note: some of your may be more organized than me and have multiple TBR lists, so choose whichever one you think is most appropriate, or check them all!]
Once there, click on the column header "date added" in order to sort by date you added to your TBR shelf (you may need to click twice to sort oldest-to-newest).
Once you have sorted, note the top 5 books on this list - these are the books you will aim to read this year!
2. How to score:
Comment on this thread with the 5 oldest books on your TBR list (see below for an example).
As you finish reading a book, check them off the list by adding a "read" date next to the book.
3. To edit your challenge score/edit your comment:
a. Find your comment in the challenge thread.
b. On the bottom right of your comment, there should be four hyperlinks: "reply | edit | delete | flag". Select "edit".
c. Add your book read date per above instructions.
d. Click "edit post" once you are done.
4. If your TBR shelf is reaaaaally old...
I have 350+ books on my TBR shelf... I get it. Sometimes tastes change. If you find you are no longer interested in reading a book, or you begin to read it and it is a clear Did-Not-Finish (DNF), feel free to replace it on your list of 5 and move on. This goal is for YOU so do whatever you want to/need to/feel like doing to clean up your TBR shelf.
5. Challenge dates:
This challenge runs from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018.
Feel free to JOIN AT ANY TIME.
Good luck!!!
