So, I am unable to get Woman of a Thousand Secrets from my library, or anywhere in NH which is where I live. I was able to put a hold on All the Birds in the Sky though - I'm not sure how long it'll be until I can get access to it though as there are 3 copies of the book but 2 people per copy requesting the book... so it might take longer to get it. I'm not sure how you guys want to proceed... I could sit this month out if you guys want to read Woman of a Thousand Secrets? Sorry :(

I'll definitely let you know... my hope is to go the library tomorrow & get an answer... another option is we could do both if we can all get access to both? just throwing that out there.
Yes I did see that as well, I added Renae as a friend :)
I really enjoy this group (both our mini buddy group and this group as a whole)... it's such a cool idea :)

As for the new books, all of them sounded interesting, but I vote for All the Birds in the Sky.
I usually get my books through Amazon since I have a kindle but those are a bit more than I pay usually so I'm going to try going to my library this weekend :-)

Are there any repercussions from Chess doing that ritual sigil thing on Terrible to keep him alive? I personally thought that was such a risk given the madman that they just stopped had that type of thing happen to him, I know that she changed the sigil a bit but still... I don't think I would have risked it for someone who I loved & wanted to be with. I wasn't expecting Terrible to sacrifice himself either but I thought it also made sense because no matter how mad at her he is he still loves her.

I still think Terrible was the best character of the book, but Fletcher was silly and brought a lightness to the book at just the right time. And, yes Karen - that was the scene I mentioned earlier... when Terrible basically asked to trade sex for drugs I felt bad for Chess but at the same time I also thought good for Terrible because he called her out for her actions and got across how hurt he was.

I know! when Terrible said "at least a whore's honest" I could just feel my heart breaking for him. There's another line later on that he has that shows how he's feeling perfectly & it's another knife in your heart lol ...
Yeah it was quite interesting how laid back she was about the whole blackmailing scenario, but there will be more to that so I won't say anymore :)

Messy indeed lol :) I think you're right, if he knew her as well as I think he does then I don't think it came as much of a surprise, but the fact that it's his enemy makes it heartrenching & I think it's also a bit weird because I think Lex kidnapped her in the first book which Terrible knew so what else can he think but she's selling his secrets. I'm wondering if Terrible does end up forgiving her, but I think it'll be hard given how things end in this book.
I don't have a preference for the thread -whether a separate thread each book or just this one... whatever is easiest works for me :)

I think Karen should suggest our next books... since she was the 2nd one to join this group she should pick 2nd... just my thought anyway :)
I also loved when Terrible confessed his feelings, it was the most honest & sincere scenes I thought.

I love reading your comments Karen. I can't wait to read your thoughts on the big betrayal that happens later.
I thought the sex party was weird as well but Terrible was so sweet to be her hero & save her from withdrawal but a part of me wished he had let her withdraw completely so she could start becoming clean...but at the same time I get why the author didn't choose to go that route.

I just finished the book & I'm torn... I really enjoyed the main plot, but the subplot was just not my thing I guess. I absolutely loved Terrible & the ending (oh my word!) but I just didn't like how Chess treated him. I won't say any more since I know Karen is still reading, but I did enjoy the mystery & action. Overall I enjoyed it :)

OMG! I can't believe that just happened! I just finished chapter 22 & yikes... I'm speechless, what a way for the bad guys to get at her.

Oh my word, so much is happening & I can't put the book down lol

So far it seems as though he's interested in her & there's a chance she's interested in him, but she's with someone else ...at least as far as I've read - I think I'm on chapter 10 or maybe 11 now lol
I personally think her & Terrible would be great together (he's so sweet towards her).

I agree with you Erin, and it definitely works because I can't wait to read what happens next.

Oh, I thought it was just a reflection in her window of the guy coming to attack her. I completely agree the author could have described that so much better. I was wondering what happened and very confused. I've noticed that the author does jump from place to place though without notice - like the same kind of thing happened when Chess left the Pyle residence to when she's with Lex in that Market. I was confused for a minute on that too. Maybe that's just the author's style though? I'm still interested in the plot though and wish I had more time to read.

Yes, that's exactly the part that confused me. I'm glad it gets explained later :-)

I am just starting Chapter 10, but I was a little frustrated with how Chapter 8 ended and how Chapter 9 began - I felt that there was a part missing. Did you guys get that feeling too?

It definitely gets better & more interesting as it goes on.

I felt the same, Karen. Hopefully we get some answers as it goes on.

I've only read the first chapter so far, this week got a little busy :-)
