I did forget to mention Picoult switches POVs often which is hard for some but I find it helps & brings more to the story to me :-)

I know how you feel Dano ...her books are usually always emotional lol
I know your struggle Erin - I've been trying to work out too & it's not fun lol
My plan is to start the book today, I'm glad you guys got it :-)

yikes, hope everything goes well for you, Dano :-)
I have my book & will definitely start reading it this week. I'm glad everyone was able to get the book.

I like that idea as well... I haven't read a Christmas themed book that I remember so it'll be fun :-)
I'm excited you guys want to read The Pact, it's been on my TBR shelf for a while :-)

Works for me :-)
I figured I'd put my book choices up now so everyone has a chance to get the book in time for the 15th... let me know if you guys don't like these choices though and I can choose a few others :-)
The Pact,
The Color Purple,
Lover Eternal, or
The Way of ShadowsWhat do you guys think?

hi :-)

So, I know it's still a little early but just figured I'd check if it was my turn to pick books or if we should have Dano go next?

I did not like Khasar, he was a real creep & I don't think he actually loved Lady Saren at all, just likes to prey on the weak & due to her past she was very timid & weak...which is understandable given what she shared but a part of me wished she would have shared that earlier since it helped us understand her a lot better.
Cats are awesome :)

I finished the book today & have to say I loved it! I agree it was an easy read & not much happened the first 100 pages or so but that didn't bother me as much as I was expecting it to. Maybe it's because I really liked Dashti as a character & a narrator. As the story went on & I became more invested in the characters I felt all the ups & downs... to be honest I got quite annoyed with Lady Saren but she redeemed herself in the end. And Khan Tegus - I loved him throughout lol
thank you for introducing me to this book as I would not have picked it up myself.

Haha! Go Lady Saren! I just read the part where she dumped her waste bucket & Lord Khasar was there ....gross but still awesome lol

Wow Lord Khasar (I think that's how you spell it) is crazy! I wonder what he was talking about allowing her to watch him feed... is he a vampire? (don't tell me lol) it'll be interesting to find out. I also have a theory as to why the lady won't talk directly to her 'betrothed'.. I'm thinking she didn't actually tell her prior maid what to write, I think she just told the maid to write him, like she's having Dashti talk to him & therefore she doesn't know how to talk to him. that plus she's scared out of her mind from dealing with her crazy father. Just my thoughts anyway :-)

I have to share... I started the book today since I finally finished the other book I was reading yesterday. Anyway, I'm on day 19 where Dashti is explaining how her lady's guy that she's in love with must be so bright that the lady must squint & then she writes "my lady doesn't remember squinting" & I couldn't help but laugh :-)
I agree with you both that it's definitely an easier read & so far not much has happened, but I'm enjoying it... I think it's because I like Dashti, she may be simple but she's a good narrator :-)
ok back to reading ... I mean working :-P

You guys rock, I'm glad I'm not the only one that does this. I'm right there with you Karen on the different cycles - I've been binge watching different Netflix shows recently ...just finished Quantico ...and don't really feel all that motivated to read but do agree this group is a good incentive :-)

Don't worry I will probably be the last one this time around - I haven't been reading all that much lately. do you guys get that? I go through spurts where I just don't want to pick up a book for like a month then I finally do & can't stop reading lol ;-)

Aww man now I really want to get it lol ...but I have like 4 books that are waiting for reviews & I just haven't been into reading that much the past few weeks (been way too tired with work & fighting a cold) ...so I'll wait but I can't wait to read if you guys liked it as much as Iron King :)

Yay, I'm glad you like the book Erin :-)
I am also able to get this month's book right away :-)

All of them sound good to me but since a has been voted for twice I'd say that's the one we should read ;-)

I really enjoyed the part you're at now Dano :-)
I'm glad I'm not the only one who pictured the Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland while reading about Grim :-)
It will be a little while before I pick up the next one but I definitely will be reading at least the next few books in the series (if not the whole series lol)

Oh my goodness guys! I just finished the book & that ending... so heartrenching and I can't wait to find out what happens next! So so good! So much gets explained but there's still a lot left unexplained, like what's next for Meghan. Excuse me while I go get the second book lol :)
Fey are crazy & I definitely would never want to meet up with one. However I do enjoy how the author is talking about a bigger story - humans need to progress technologically & how that is in actuality killing nature. Love that it makes you think a bit about things in a broader sense.
I can't wait to read what you guys think.

I just got the part III too :)
I thought the sacrifice was a difficult one too & I don't know that I would have paid it but then again how can you miss something you don't remember?
It definitely has taken a dark turn & I have to say I'm rethinking my theory of her being the Iron Kings daughter lol ... I liked the Iron Horse more than I liked Virus -she was just crazy lol.
oh & the scene with Ash when he saves her by the pond - he was so hurt and that's why I think he became so cold toward her. Ah there's so much going on & I can't wait to read more ... silly work lol :-)
