Don't feel bad Dano, he can be hit or miss for me. Play Dirty it is :-)

I guess that means it's up to Dano lol ;-)

The next 4 options in my to read shelf are (and if these don't interest you just let me know & I'll go down the list lol :-) ):
American Hostage The BeholderPlay Dirtyor
Kill Alex CrossWhat do you think?

Yikes I'm so sorry Erin! Hopefully he gets over himself quickly & realizes what's best for your child. Please do stop by & vent anytime.

Don't worry Dano there are more WTF moments like that lol :-)

I hope you like it as much as I did :-)
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... (hopefully the link shows up) --I really enjoyed this book and it was by an author I was recently introduced to.

I finished the book today & have to agree with you Karen. It was a bit over the top & predictable but I always enjoy happy endings. I didn't like Ryen & to be honest I got quite frustrated with Misha too ... I mean why do you have to say those types of things while having sex... I get dirty talk but really. it also bugged me how she said no to a specific sex act but then relents after he implies him wanting it right after she says no.... sorry but that's just annoying ...heres an idea take what she says & don't push it.
Anyway I enjoyed the preview of Corrupt at the end of the book.
Thank you for introducing us to this author Karen :-)

I wasn't able to get Punk 57 through my library, as you suspected, but I did just get it from Amazon so I'll probably start it sometime this week.

Yes, a thousand times yes... I don't understand it either. Maybe the idea of someone being able to engineer life like that was considered scary but to me the characters ruined all of that.

Yay February - happy early birthday Karen! hope you get to enjoy it & have an awesome day :-)
As for the book choices I'm leaning towards Punk 57 or Stick :-)

Yes, I completely agree with you! His descriptions of the country was getting annoying - I think that may have been the point where I started skimming & then resorted to skipping pages.. I just couldn't take it anymore. I don't consider myself a woman of science but I was impressed with Georges ability to learn to speak, read & pretty much everything without someone there to guide him.
I can't wait for the next book either :-)

Unfortunately it doesn't get better & he never sees the light *sigh*
I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one getting frustrated with his whole woe is me routine.

Wow that sounds so much more interesting than the book lol :-)
I don't remember any real explanation to how Franky was made but maybe I skimmed it lol

So I finally finished the book & to be honest I had to skim some pages just to get through it.. I just couldn't take the whining anymore. I felt bad for George & so angry @ Franky for not owning his mistakes & responsibility in what happened to those he loved ...maybe if he apologized & explained to George his reasonings for what he did things may have turned out differently.

I kind of think it's a cautionary tale of obsession ...whatever form of obsession it doesn't really matter but it ends up bringing out the worst in you. Franky was obsessed with creating George but then was repulsed by him (& I agree with you Karen -repulsed by himself). If he hadn't been so obsessed with creating George in the first place I don't think he'd be so repulsed.

I completely agree with you Erin. I'm at the part where George is telling his story to Frankenstein & the part that struck me was how before when George was asking him to just hear his side Frankenstein was like no way you're disgusting but he went anyway to listen which I was glad about but I know that it's not changing any of his opinions & I just don't get it.. how can you not take responsibility. I wish I could understand Frankenstein's point of view but I just can't.

A read-a-thon does sound like fun, Dano ...was there a theme or did you get to pick what books you read?
are you guys having a hard time liking Frankenstein? I can't seem to enjoy reading it ...I feel bad for the monster (and I have now realized my theory was wrong lol) & really don't like Frankenstein as a character -he's so whiny & he can't seem to realize that he brought this all on himself by abandoning the "thing" he created. I do enjoy your theory of the sexual repression Erin - I can definitely see that.

Ok so I'm only about 30% through with Frankenstein but I have a theory I want to share ...what if his 'monster' that he created is only in his mind and not real? I mean he's the only who has seen it so far. What did you think while reading it?

I've been listening to Horde on audio book while driving to & from work & while doing chores around the house - it makes time go by so much faster, plus the book is awesome. It's the third & final installment I think in the Razor land series by Ann Aguire & I would highly recommend it. It's kind of a cross between the Hunger Games & the video game Fallout (which is awesome too).
Since I finished Let It Snow I will be reading Frankenstein more & hope to read it during lunch today.
