OLD. 1900, pre, old. Makes me think long dresses and horse power.

The first time I remember coming across 'dated', was a relatively recent book that chirped about how the h, on a flashed out, better then now tech submarine, showed her daughter the instant pictures she took years before that she downloaded on the CD-Rom for posterity.

Ah, no, got it. Historical = writing about a previous time. Dated = writing about your time, which is no longer current...?

But I guess that leave Austen, Bronte and the likes hanging :(

Not the one Michelle. I do have that one on my to read list tho... Kept putting it off cause I forgot what the plot was (can't just flip the book to see the plot on electrics anymore). Might have to bump it up the list ;) thx

Are you sure that's not a YA? Maybe not, I've always been a little unclear on the genres.

If I'm not confusing them with another book... I THINK the following are related.

H may be a tiny bit older than h, and possibly a little more upper crust.
H may feel a little on borrowed time with h, if that makes sense.
The 'height of bad manner to knock h up' convo has me picturing it in a shower scene

This truly may be from another book...
Think they used condoms from the start, and either one fails or they just get caught in the moment and forget. The h says it shouldn't be a problem as she's on birth control, and the H is a little shocked that she never mentioned it before... possibly enter the 'knocking her up' comment.

Modern, so not sure if they're what you're looking for, but the Burnout series is good, and has 2 bks that have scarred/amputee cast.

Huh, there's a book I read about... something (helpful, I know), but am pretty sure the second book was about a 'minced up' (not trying to be rude) H who was a friend of H&hBK1. From memory, he survived when they all thought him dead, but he was so messed up, he decided to stay hidden. Think it was going to be about him deciding to go after his fiancée who was about to marry another since he was dead.

Was historic. Will try and track down bk1.

No worries. Was my fav series for a few years about a decade ago... but I shall never forget them ;)
