185 If you can remember the store and you think it had a bit of a following, give them a call. They might recognize it.
185 One of Dean Knootz stories has a GM dog that can read.

This is the first time I've checked this thread because I don't know of any other smart dog stories, but I just read the original post point of not being able to make a story without an intelligent H/h... and just cant resist pointing out that that is SO wrong. There are hundreds of books out there with main characters that are dumber than dirt (that wasn't the word I had in mind :). Some authors make a point of writing dumb characters so that it is easier on them to write the story. It's harder to write when you have a smart character who uses their head.

If the plot is getting from a to c, some authors write their characters to assume that 5 comes right after a and are completely thrown and lost when they stumble into this 'surprising development' that is b. It drives me flipping mad! For me, that's a bad book, but there are plenty of high ratings on them to show that there is a market out there who just don't care if the characters have the average intelligence of a rotted cabbage. Ok, rant over, sorry :)
185 Maybe... the guys don't declare who they are straight up (as in lord types, they just hang about as riff raff), but the women know it's them and there's no snagging under a mask or anything.

The Spring Bride
An Undeniable Rogue
185 No problem. Enjoy :)
185 The Unexpected Duchess

Omg, that was hard to find! I went past it about 10 times cause I was remembering a different part of the story.
185 Oh, there's one where there's a love hate thing going on between the h & H, and she's a mouth from the south type. I think he asks her to dance and she says no... I think in the next few days it becomes a challenge for them - betting book at whites and all - and he gets her to choose a card, and the number is how many 'better' ways she could have said no to the dance that HE has to come up with.

Can't remember what book it was for the life of me, but if it sounds like the one, I'm sure I can find it.

Think she means... 'they look into each others eyes and fall into bed.

The next day...'

So you know they're going to, or have had sex, but you actually see nothing of it.

That's awesome Kris! I've been looking for something like that for years... Every time I want to find a thread again to bump, check or update, I've been going thru 'My Comments' and scrolling down, but as we know, it only shows the group and the comment, not the thread, which is why I'm always adding a little (descriptor) in brackets so I have some idea what which comment it fo which thread. I've now bookmarked it, cause we all know I'd never remember how to find it again later ;) THX

185 That sounds the same for me too, in the individual threads. Two checkboxes ready ticked, but I think you can change that in the email screen if you want.

Except in the background I just have everything on notifications only. Higher up the emails list I've got a few immediate emails, but I remember being driven mad by the instant emails ages ago too. Pretty sure that was how I fixed it tho :/.

185 You've probably already tried, but JIC. Click through to your account settings and then the 'email' tab. Make sure all the settings are as you want them... there are all lot, and your groups are down the bottom. I've found sometimes I've still got one random one in the wrong spot. Also, at the bottom of each thread you go in, there's the "Follow this Discussion" options. Mine currently says 'You are following all discussions or this group (no emails - notifications only) edit.

Lol, that series is worth an infomercial ;)

185 Playing for Keeps, series... As Erica said.
Hooked on the Game, Stirling series, they are all good, but a few books in and they get hilarious watch the characters go at each other in prank wars.
Holding Out, series, but I've only read this one... several times... snark city
Shooter, series. Lots of banter.
Her Best Match, maybe?

185 Dragon Prince series. High fantasy, magic, princedoms, dragons. Was my intro into fantasy and I still reread whenever I can... unfortunately my books are packed and I haven't been able to get it on iBooks, so I'm in withdrawals :/

Daggerspell, is the start of a big series. Covers magic, reincarnation.

Assassin's Apprentice, series is magic, kingdoms, conspiracies and all sorts.

Don't know if they are what your looking for, but Nalini Singhs 2 series are great too... but UF.
Angels' Blood
Slave to Sensation

I just downloaded for free... are you outside oz? I checked out the other free ones... They are my pet hate - chapters (under 150pgs) disguised as books - but they do clearly state that they are 'just additional reading for the series', which is always a relief to know before you start reading. I've never read any of KC's, but as a confessed book hoarder like yourself, I downloaded them just in case I do get into the series ;)
185 Touch the Dark

Haven't read it, and it does appear to have vamps, but the h seems like your pref. It's free on iBook right now (first in series thing)

185 I dont think so, but jic.

Holding Out, she moves in across from a bikers club. Bashes on the door when they keep waking up her kid. He sees her, likes her, but decides to wait for her to come to him. A year or so later, gets sick of waiting for her and makes his move... just as her past explodes. If you like snark, there's some wicked support characters... if you don't like snark... maybe give it a miss ;)
185 It's def the book.
