Take Your Pick by Jasmine HaynesNot crime/thriller, but erotica. She's (lawyer?) 'openly' seeing both a lawyer(?) - for the professional side, and her builder - for the naughty side. There's a bit of a maybe you should pick, maybe not, dare for a weekend and they all go all out... or in as the case maybe.

Lol, I don't think I had any spoilers past the first couple of chapters, but all good anyway. The other users found it and gave you the series name while I was typing it out ;)...

Oh! They were teens? If you didn't finish, I'm trying not to give too many spoilers... Her mom was the housekeeper/cook and they have been bffs for years, against his dad's orders. She rides her skate board to the flash house, and the neighbours used to complain about the troublemaker in the neighbourhood or something. The guys dad was an absolute ass, but we only saw him a couple of times in the start of bk1 I think. She always wore her hair braided to the side and hoodies to cover a mark behind one ear, which he finds when they are hanging out in his bedroom and he touches it and realises that she's been hiding it for years. And then things get started...?

... part of a series. H & h are the quiet friends. She runs a coffee shop and always wears skirts (cause of the old self harm for ease etc). He has scar on his throat from childhood trauma. Her past comes to town to haunt her, so where he was 'quietly' keeping an eye on her for their friends while they were out of town, seeing somethings up with her brings them closer. If it sounds like it, I'll hunt it up for you.

Ok, that could work... Think the one I was thinking of was wrong anyway. Was an affair and the maid was funnelling the letters. It was set in Rio/Paris tho around the building of the statue. I'll keep it in mind tho, cause there's something about it that's bugging me, so I might have read something else similar.

Hmm, any idea how they managed to exchange letters in those days without him (at least) knowing who she was? Easy enough these days I guess, but how and who was he sending his letters to if he wasn't sending them direct to her?Your question reminds me of a modern one, but it's tweaking my brain about a historical one too... I just can't place it!

... sorry... just had a thought as I was scanning past your thread (I've not read anything similar)Does that mean he could be married to his own daughter in the future? 😖

If you change your header to something with a bit more detail you might get some more hits. Everyone's looking for books here, so it's hard to tell the generic thread titles apart, and when they have no details, users have no clue if it's even a book that might have come across their lists, and it's sometimes easier to bypass.

Probably not, but one of the Dark Hunter (Sherrilyn Kenyon?) stories is about a guy cursed like that. They other dark hunters remember him, but one of the main characters (Archon) did a counter curse so that those humans of his bloodline (his brothers descendants) remember him. So they 'serve' him thru time, and their spouses are told about him, but 'meet' him everytime he walks back in the room. Then his h is from another 'species' that was cursed by Apollo to die at 28yo, and because they are supernatural too, she remembers him.
I'd like a romance book that's a tear - wrecker. As long it's mainly romance any genre will do.

Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas by James Patterson. Ball my eyes out every time I read it. For cheapy sob stories that got me (they're sad, but may not be as sad as they make me... For some reason I cry every time I read these too)
The Daddy Pact by Kristy K James
A Fathers Secret by Yvonne Lindsay
Three Wishes by Kristen Ashley usually gets me in a couple of places too.
Maybe Gray's Hill by Barbara Cerny
And very maybe Nothing Left to Lose by Kirsty Mosely, I know there's bits I cry in, but it doesn't hit my memory as a 'tear jerker'. Think she's just split it into several books (original around 800pgs), so the name might be different.
Editing issues in general, and stories that are just badly put together, or when they just 'skip' over scenes, events or convos without actually showing them... Hello, I'm reading the book to see what's going on, not to get a briefing at the end. Then the old fave of continuously pointing out 'how smart is our character' only to have them completely miss the neon flashing light supposed plot twist for the sake the story. I read a quote in a book that's something like 'standing in a church and calling myself Christian is like standing in a bank and calling myself rich'. Just because you tell us they are smart, doesn't make up for having them tie their shoelaces together because you can't think of a better way to drag out the story. Grrr!
Also, weak h's! They drive me mad. I'm not interested in pushovers. So unless this is just the start of her learning curve in how to stand up for herself... I'm out.
Pushovers in general. Watching characters be pushed around by family, friends, partners, ex's & work mates again, drives me bonkers. I spend the whole book rewriting it in my head as to how they could have handled it or what they could have said.
Angie Fox might work?Robyn Peterman has two series, one about were's, one about a new witch who gets dragged into the were world.
After the Ending by Lindsey F(?) and Lindsey P(?)... Anyway, two Lindsay's of some spelling wrote this series. There's a pandemic flu that wipes out like 90% of the world pop... The twist is that half of those left go mad, the other half end up developing some kind of paranormal ability. It follows two groups around two lead women who are bffs and are trying to reconnect from the opposite sides of America. Then there's The Road.
Are you interested in supernatural/fantasy stuff? Or trying to stick to reality based?

Thanks Ayshe, that's it. The title and author don't ring any bells. Neither do the character names, but it's def the story!Mod, could you please mark as solved? I can't on iPhone. Thank you.
