MJ’s comments from the What's the Name of That Book??? group.

I think they're around 19/20. The guys were in second year, she was delayed a year cause of the pregnancy.

Don't think there was anything specific about jobs or hobbies etc.

Think she learnt kickboxing to get rid of baby weight... I'm unsure if the pregnancy was because the ex raped her or just an accident. If it's not a date rape thing, then maybe she found him cheating and refused to marry a cheater just to save scandal (both sets of parents were insisting on marriage, and the ex was following orders pretty much).

LOL... NO WONDER I COULDN'T FIND IT! But my subconscious knew... Everytime I looked for it, I kept circling this 'same annoying book that's still not the one I'm looking for!!!' Turns out, it was the sampler in the back of it. Which also explains why I would have only read some of it and not put it on a shelf.

The last bride in ballymore has a recently released... It's been a while, but I don't think it's a huge part of the story, but it's def present.

Ok, def didn't finish it. Will have to concentrate on those one. Does sound good tho.

I can't find it! I can see those first few chapters in my head like a movie, but no matter how I run the search, I'm getting nothing. Pretty sure I didn't finish it tho. Not sure if I didn't like it, or just got distracted and forgot what book I was reading when I came back.

If you remember the end or some other bits, it might help jog my memory in the right direction. But I haven't given up. I just need to think of a better way to search it.

Kerrigan Chronicles?

Consequences? The guy set up a meeting at the pub she worked, and got her to drunkenly sign a 'joke contract' on a menu and then kidnapped her. She woke up to a maid telling her if it's masters choice, then it's right etc. the book skips over the abuse/training and deals with the inbetween times from memory. Think she realises she HAS to become what he wants if she has any chance of getting out.

I read/started to read one recently that was like that...? The pack seer was a little girl, and one of the 'orphaned' (not sure how they got them all, but wasn't a bad stealing them thing) kids the pack had taken in. I think the adults may have been 'random' shifters rather than all one type (think the world order was for different groups not to mix like that). The seer saw them all dying and they were running thru all the options, with her reliving it over and over, when one had a random thought about 'X and her land that he promised to leave alone'. The seer was all 'yep that's it', and the guy was really trying to talk them out of it cause this woman (who sounds like yours, but I didn't get far enough to see if she's half/half) was against interacting or something. The kids fly (in alphas father's jet - he's a big alpha too, and would have gotten mad if son alpha hadn't updated the parents to the move) and some of the adults bike in. The guy who suggested her land was very clear... They had to let her do whatever she wanted and not interfere... so she kicked his ass. The alpha got some props from her for staying out of it and keeping the other out. Thing her land was 'awesome' and everyone was complaining that the guy hadn't spilt on it earlier. The new chick/h? seemed super anti social and only agreed to let them stay a while cause of the seer and kids.

The pack that was trying to wipe them out may have been wolves and used a distraction in the vision to take out most of the pack at a distance from the Cubs so they could sneak in and kill the kids.

Don't know why I keep writing out these long 'is it this' descriptions instead of just looking for the book to start... It's a bad habit I'm trying to break!

Read in the last few years

I know there's spoilers... but can't remember when the reveals are made (early or late in the book), so beware.

- h starts college a year later than twin brother
- h is 'damaged' from previous relationship (either just fail or possibly abuse)
- H is twin brothers BFF, and doesn't know the story of h, but likes her and 'keeps pushing' (not in a bad way) to get past her barriers
- h is really fit, and I think there's a scene of bother/H/both(?), insisting she get some self defence tips from them... and she kicks ass, cause she spent the last year learning kickboxing (or something close to that scenario)
- ex wants her back, and I know he pops up, but not sure how many times or how full on he is
- think the parents (h & ex) want them back together... h parents may even have engineered interactions, and possibly him finding her when she left (year before college & maybe during college)
- THINK h & twin may have written off parents because of their NEED to force a marriage... possibly something to do with social standing/stigma (they may have written h off when she refused and twin cut ties in solidarity)

Big spoilers, but boys sure when in the book they come out.

- can't remember if h found ex cheating and called it off, or it was a date rape situation
- h was pregnant by ex by end of high school, and he (and all the parents) wanted a quick marriage to cover it up. Think some of them were politicians, but they were all 'background assholes'
- ex was a whiny little shit who wanted her to stop being difficult and marry him cause his parents were pissed there was a scandal (think he did kind of care for her in that 'I'm a whiny rich teenager and you fit' type of way)
- because of the parent issues, h took off for the first college year to have the baby and adopt out... ex was threatening to keep it to try and force her to marry him, but he didn't really want a baby, just wanted the cushy life back
- eventually H finds out all of the above (think there's a ex/H scene) and loves and supports her
- open adoption and h & H go together to visit little girl for first birthday maybe
- think ex gets his shit together in the end and sorts his own visitation
- there's a scene when twin pushes h about something and she basically says that she wanted to keep the baby but parents and ex situation wouldn't allow it, so ex or parents were the reason his niece wasn't in their lives

Very unlikely, but the Haunting of a Duke has the basics. Everyone thinks he killed his wife. No sisters I think, or kid (H's kid sister was murdered as a child). h is a 'quiet' psychic who his mother invited to a house party for answers. She denys being psychic or anything in general (avoiding the nut house), but she is often taken over by ghost who take her wandering. H is not a believer.

Spite club is something like that.

h gets a call from H in the middle of the night saying 'our partners are cheating' (none married). She shows up in time for (biker?) H to beat the crap out of banker boyfriend with his hot girlfriend screaming to leave him alone.

They either pretend or real get together to spite the others. And it turns real.

Ha, I've been skimming past this thread since you added it, thinking it's not likely one I've read. Clicked in by accident and I actually know the book your talking bout. H's family has Jessie James connection.

The actual collage drama is a later released prequel. The guys rich and she's poor maybe. In love until pregnant... He leaves her and only finds out she's had the baby when some guy says congrats daddy at a party. He goes I hospital and sees her there with male friend who's been supporting her, but think he's gay. The daddy leaves and doesn't run into them until the original book one when she's about 5 I think. I only read the prequel, but if it sounds like it, I can hunt it up for you.
