I love reading ghost stories, and I'm on the lookout for some more to read! I don't tend to like gory horror - I either stay on the more "literary" side of horror (like, Shirley Jackson, Susan Hill, or Sarah Waters) or I read YA & middle grade. I also don't really read romance or science fiction. I like historical fiction more when it comes to ghost stories, but contemporary is fine as well. And I don't mind if the novel isn't particularly scary, but I'm not really looking for funny or cute books - especially if a ghost/live human relationship is involved (thanks, but no thanks).

I will say that I'm looking for full-length novels right now, not short stories.

I really enjoyed it! There's a sequel too, but it wasn't as good.

Florence and Giles is a pretty interesting paranormal/(literary) horror novel that I read recently. The MC is 12 and it's definitely not a kid's book.
