185 Hally, you ended up with duplicate threads. I deleted the other one to minimize confusion and repeat the suggestion I made there:

Merry Thanksgiving

Even if it's not the right book, it does involve a Christmas list mix-up with a grocery list being sent to Santa, so this might help a future searcher.

185 You're welcome! Moving this thread to Adult Fiction Solved. Despite having a teenage narrator this isn't classified as YA.

Done. :)
185 If You Loved Me? From the True-to-Life Stories from Hamilton High series by Marilyn Reynolds.
185 I haven't read this, but it was published in 2007 and has subject headings for dementia, Toronto, and memory so maybe? Soucouyant
185 Wow! Lucky guess. Happy to help!
185 Well, that was quick - the OP has deleted their GR account. Guess I'll move this to Abandoned now.
185 I moved this thread to Unsolved.
185 Glad you found it, Peter! I'll move this thread to Solved for you.

185 Hi Christina - I edited your topic header to increase the chances of your post being seen by someone who knows the series.

How long ago did you read these? Any other details you can remember will also help!
185 Total guess, but this has a 2013 pub date, author's first name Simon and a green cover:

Itch: The Explosive Adventures of an Element Hunter
185 I agree with Amanda, and wow - that's the second time this week someone's been looking for this book!

185 Hi Lisa,

I've edited your header title to add more description, it increases the odds of your post being seen by someone who can identify it. Please change it if you feel I've gotten it wrong! :)
185 You're welcome! Great book. :)
185 I've edited your header for you, Pinky, to make it more descriptive as Lobstergirl suggested. Please change it if you feel I've gotten it wrong.

Unfortunately I don't know what your book is, but hopefully more people will see your request now!

185 And I've edited the title of this thread to make it more descriptive, so it will catch more people's eyes. Please change it if you feel I have misrepresented your query.
:)
185 Hi Crystal,

You must have posted your request twice by accident. I deleted the other thread, as it didn't have any replies.

Is this book YA?

185 Fresno Bob - yep, it was the wacky mom and evil grandma that locked the kids in the attic in FITA, but the Grandfather was part of the plot (indirectly). Nevertheless, I really don't think that's the book we're looking for here!

185 I find it REALLY hard to believe any 5th grade teacher would read Flowers in the Attic to their students! I'll see if I can come up with any other ideas...what year were you in 5th grade?
