The headquarters of UN Women is in New York, in Vienna it's more about environment if I remember correct. In Vienna we also have the IAEA and many other international foundations. We're neutral:)

I have to agree with both Bruna and Ross on that matter, you have to be wary because men who behave in a traditional way normally also demand that from their wifes. And the political is personal, they are also very likely to have certain ideas concerning politics.

Thanks so much for this "definition" of the different kinds of feminism. The ones I had so far were from my sociology book and while they grasped the important points, I prefer yours.
I'd say I'm a socialist feminist then, although I always say I'm an intersectional feminist.

People really seem to forget often that feminism is about options.
Molly Weasley is a feminist in her own way. You'll rock the UN:) May I ask where you want to work for the UN? We have headquarters here in Vienna:)

Now I'm homesick... What a wonderful poem.

Wow, if we had something similar to 4H in Austria, I would have participated. But we only have Pfadfinder, and they are just about camping and all that stuff, not so diverse as is the 4H.

Reading this book definitely felt revolutionary for me, as it was the case with some other books that we read here. Welcome aboard, fellow shiphuman:)

Emma is very busy indeed. I heard the next stop is China for Beauty and the Beast?

That is actually an issue that I had with the Women's March: this overrepresentation of cisgender females.

I think The Vagina Monologues shows how words work in a very good way. Some of us wrote that they had problems saying the word "vagina" out loud, and that shows just how powerful words can be. I wouldn't go as far as saying that the many words for "vagina" are because we're afraid to name it, but also because it's a very important and mysterious body part. It just depends on how we use these words. I'm very itchy about definitions therefore, and while most slurs can't harm me, some can very much.

EDIT: Gender-Sternchen: gender-star, a sign to include all genders, may they be within the spectrum or in the third dimension

179584 Elitism is definitely a problem, that's why I'm also critical of the Opera Ball in Vienna.

The important issue is for everybody to be able to get into the elite and that they're functional. Aah, I suck at translating...

179584 Yesterday was the first time that a female conductor was at the Vienna Opera Ball:) And she rocked it, folks, she rocked it!

Sadly, one of our female ministers passed away yesterday. She was respected across all political parties and our politicians were truly shocked. May she live prosper in the afterlife.

I've been thinking about this too, but we have to consider that Emma also tours now for Beauty and the Beast, so I think it's getting really close this time.

As I already said, for me, both the weekend of 4th/5th and 11th/12th are free. One week prior for 4th is already this weekend.

I LOVE My Life on the Road, and love to discuss it with anybody. Maybe you want to read another one, but that's up to you. I'm fine with discussing whatever strucks our mind.

To be honest, that was the second worst part that I read within the Vagina Monologues.
I think of giving everyone a sex ed here, really. To debunk it from all this hetero-, cis-,sexist teaching, and embrace all our differences and celebrate them.

One thing to add here, I think, is that they would only itinerate what our Boss Lady said, and not come up with own solutions, ideas, opinions. I think it's actually good how she deals with it.

Please, don't tell me this is a John/Joan case? Because these cases are in fact horrible.

And the answer where the crossing line is:
On any medical intervention that is irreversible we need fully informed consent, in my opinion, and a 5 year old child can't give you fully informed consent.

Third thing: As fas as I know, the People who practice MGM and FGM in Africa believe that there are parts of the other sex, which need to be taken away, in order to make them totally one sex.

Woohoo, you mention a sociologist! Now, who was the sociologist who said we are only our true self if we live alone(no humans around us at all, no contact to humans at all) in a wood?
I've forgotten his name, I just remember he was a man.
179584 I have to admit, I never finished it. I wanted to finish it, really, but it was just too much for me. All this hate, all this violence, it was unbearable for me, not only because it made me aware just HOW MUCH PRIVILEGE we Europeans have, and others don't.
Some chapters reminded me of my past and that made me only more frustrated and itchy about the whole issue of how we treat our fellow human beings, and in the end, I just couldn't get myself to read this book further.

But I read three quarters, so it's quite a lot.
