Very interesting post Ria.

I know in time I will want to read it (and hopefully the whole series) all over again. I started to re-watch the tv show and now I realize how little I did understand while watching it.

This book did a great job at knocking me down a few rungs on the intelligence ladder. At times I felt very stupid and confused. Nothing like the taste of humble pie!

Yes she has grown up an awful lot in a short time.

Roseanne I have been told I should be in the military because I like structure, rules, organization and authority. lol

Brendan even if it's hard I know it will be well worth it. I can hardly wait too.

It has been about 12 hours since I finished the book. I am still feeling happy, happy, joy, joy about the book and I can't wait for A Clash of Kings.

This was my first read although I watch the show. After Ria's comment on a previous chapter it got me thinking of you re-readers.

To the people who have just finished this as a re-read:

~Did you learn any new info this go around?
~Did parts get boring because you knew too much?
~Did you see things differently because of what you knew?
~How likely are you to read it yet again?

Yeah what I meant (but didn't post in full) was that he isn't married and doesn't seem to care if he ever gets married.

For that time and situation everyone seems to be married. (well except those ugly girls of Frey's lol)

I thought I was the only one who was not a huge Dani fan. I thought she would be super popular.

I kind of think that it was done that way so that the reader could think about the dragons till the next book.

Maybe look at it like this: The book ends with a dragon chapter, not a Dani chapter. That might make it easier.

Aw geez you are very likely right. After reading your post I looked at the appendix under House Tully. I could not remember to well which dude he is.

Yep he is the one who was never married and would be a very "GOOD CATCH" to any woman. (see what I did there with the Tully sigil)

This may sound silly but I don't care.

Exactly why did Ned end up in this chapter saying that "Joffrey Baratheon is the one true heir to the Iron Throne" when he knows it's not true.

Did I miss something? He basically admitted to being a traitor and he knows he wasn't. I was thinking about it as I read that part but forgot to post at the time.

I love the Old Bear. I though Jon was going to get an ass whoopin' but Old Bear seemed to not be phased by Jon's attempt at leaving.

I am starting to think that I am really a lucky girl to not have first read these books as they were released. I mean I could not wait for months, years (however long the horrible wait was)! That wait must have sucked so bad.

I thought Tywin was starting to give Tyrion the respect that he deserved by giving him those directions to rule King's Landing. Then Tyrion set me straight when he said that he figured his Dad was pretty sure Jamie is dead.

One of my friends told me that this book was her least favorite of the series and it at times it was hard to keep going. So I have planned ahead and have marked 8 week check points.



I am such a nerd sometimes but it will help keep me on track to finish within the time frame allotted.

-I agree with your both. She seems so defeated.

-I think King Joffrey needs a royal boot in the ass! He is horrifying.

-I have been thinking for the last couple chapters about Ned's beheading. I think it is just so bad that Ice was used. I don't know if we will ever see Ice again but I hope by some miracle it ends up in Jon or Arya's hands.

Both both's dreams were creepy. Those poor kids won't want to go to bed after that.
