Anyway it got me thinking back to Catelyn's crossing deal - the marriage and to have those 2 boys send to Winterfell.

What was the point of sending the kids there? Why did Frey want them sent away? What was the purpose?

And I think Frey is a grumpy old coot!

Yeah she is acting very selfishly.

Yeah Sansa wants what nearly every young girl wants - A rich, cute, Prince/King.

I am willing to cut her some slack. I was once young and naive too.

Also at the end of the chapter it seems Sansa's gut tells her that Tyrion is ok. However, she is too messed up and confused to go with her gut and believe that he is not your typical Lannister.

A great book! It is starting out so well.

1) Joffrey's comet and Sansa's thoughts:
"The comet was red but Joffrey was Baratheon as much as Lannister and their sigil was a black stag on a golden field. Shouldn't the Gods have sent Joff a golden comet?"

Uhm no Sansa. You don't know this but he is about as Baratheon as I am!!!

2) Joffrey yapping to Sansa about Viserys and the "gold crown" he got
"It's almost as good as if some wolf killed your traitor brother. Maybe I'll feed him to wolves after I've caught him.

This little shit's comment made me so mad here. What a jerk! If GRRM is trying to get the reader to hate Joffrey this spot would do anyone in!

3) Tyrion arrives and is talking to Joffrey about Robb with Sansa right there
Joffrey: "and now her stupid brother is calling himself a king."
Tyrio: "All sorts of people are calling themselves kings these days."

Tyrion's comment caught me off guard and I really found that funny. He is funny.

Roseanne at the lunch you should mention you would be available to do all the female voices should he re-do the audiobook.

Now this chapter was a little less deep and easier to follow.

Arya is really lucky that Yoren was at King's Landing recruiting when he was. That worked well for her escape. It would have gotten pretty scary if he had not been there.

I don't think those other boys will mess with her any longer. Well done kid!

OK so more dreams. Shireen dreams dragons were coming to eat her. Dreams are so important in this series as we have stated before.

Stannis's vessel is the "Fury" and I thought that was a cool name. Then I looked it up and the Baratheon sigil is "Ours is the Fury". So What a great name for a boat.

I am likely one of the only people who likes Stannis. He is not a nice boy. I like bad boys.

Davos is missing fingers. I am unclear on why Stannis did this to him. I tried to read up on it but still don't get it. Enlighten me please.

re: Stannis and Cressen discussing allies. Stannis should have considered a little harder teaming up with Renly. Bad mistake. Renly as far as I can see has no real right to the throne. Stannis is being stubborn and selfish.

OK this prologue is deep. I had to set it down and think stuff through. Wow, My brain hurts. lol

I just turned on my audio book because I wanted to hear this narrator's voice. It started to play before I realized it was one 1.4 speed. I was thinking OMG Terry is right. This dude is brutal.

But then when I noticed, I set it to normal speed and he is not that bad in normal speed. He may annoy you or he may be bearable. It is hard to say. I can see where Terry is coming from for sure, but if it means hearing the story you may be able to handle him.

Excellent Terry. I will make smarty pants comments here. I already cheated and started book #2 moments go. I am such a rebel!
