177170 I have not but after seeing how much I love ASOIAF I certainly intend to.
177170 Oh Ilirio, that makes sense. It is not like you can just walk into 7-11 and pick these things up.
177170 When Arya snuck off to go to the bathroom in the bush the wolves looked at her and left her alone. They did not attack.

I know that they were just regular wolves, not dire wolves, but do you think that they left her alone because she is a Stark with the dire wolf sigil or were they just not hungry?
177170 I remember the eggs being a wedding gift but who did they come from ? Does anyone remember or is it significant ?

No but I will mark it to potentially give it a go. Thanks.
177170 I like your spoiler, It makes sense to me.

Yep, Terry was the one who told me to give Game of Thrones a try. Thanks chickie!

agreed!
177170 I have the DVD set of season one and I watched some of the bonus content. It is great stuff.

I almost feel bad for not liking Cersei because the actress seems like such a nice woman. I guess that just means one thing - great acting!

The actor who Plays Tyrion surprised me when he spoke without an accent!

177170 I read Outlander and I watched the first couple of episodes. Sorry but I don't understand the hype. I mean it was not pure torture, it was ok.

I found that there was more romance and sex than I would have liked. It got boring fast. I found there was no need for 850 pages. But I am glad I read it because it was a buddy read and on that read someone suggested I read a Song of Ice & Fire because it sounded more of what I was after. So it was worth it in the end.
177170 You are very welcome. We are all fans here!
177170 Well I found my info here:
link

But my appendix shows her but only as "his bastard daughter, Joy, a girl of only ten
177170 found this: Joy Hill is the bastard daughter of Gerion Lannister.

"All bastards can be easily identified by their surname, which is the same for all bastards in a region. Each region of the Seven Kingdoms has a different surname for bastards.

They are:
The Crownlands- Waters
The North- Snow
The Iron Islands- Pyke
The Riverlands- Rivers
The Vale- Stone
**********The Westerlands- Hill *********
The Reach- Flowers
The Stormlands- Storm
Dorne- Sand"
177170 Oh, alright. I see. Thanks.
177170 I think this is a safe place to post and ask this. It is about Osha.

"A wildling woman.
Osha fled south of the Wall along with several other wildlings and a pair of Night's Watch deserters. They came across Bran in the wolfswood and tried to take him hostage, but Robb, Grey Wind, and Summer arrived to rescue him. She was the only survivor and was taken back to Winterfell for questioning. She was later assigned to work in the kitchens."

What I don't understand is if the wall is so huge, tall and extends for miles, how did she get South of the wall? Or are we not supposed to know that yet?

177170 Brianna I have finally taken a look at this site and learned something new.

"Bastards are children who are born out of wedlock. They are also referred to as "baseborn" or "natural" in the lands of the Seven Kingdoms.

All bastards can be easily identified by their surname, which is the same for all bastards in a region. Each region of the Seven Kingdoms has a different surname for bastards.

They are:
The Crownlands- Waters
The North- Snow
The Iron Islands- Pyke
The Riverlands- Rivers
The Vale- Stone
The Westerlands- Hill
The Reach- Flowers
The Stormlands- Storm
Dorne- Sand"

I, until reading that, thought "Snow" was the name for a bastard in any region. Duh! lol
177170 Oh absolutely. They are only that young for a very short time.

I never really read the appendix in full. I flipped though it a little when I was confused but for the most part I looked stuff up online. It would have likely been smart to read it first but of course I wanted to get at the chapters.

Book #2 however I read it last night. after having read just a few chapters. I knew I was getting sleepy and did not want to get tired mid chapter so I read it instead.
177170 Brianna you are making great progress with the book. Well done.

I want to slow down with book #2 till people catch up and can comment. But I can't stop reading.

I am sure I will see more comments for #2 when the group reads actually starts March 1st. Not everyone is a Cheater like me .

177170 So he basically punished him and then moved on from it?
177170 Yeah Barriston was piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiissed. I kind of thought they would slit his throat in front of everyone but I am glad they did not.
