Fourteen-year-old Sophronia is a great trial to her poor mother. Sophronia is more interested in dismantling clocks and climbing trees than proper manners--and the family can only hope that company never sees her atrocious curtsy. Mrs. Temminnick is desperate for her daughter to become a proper lady. So she enrolls Sophronia in Mademoiselle Geraldine's Finishing Academy for Young Ladies of Quality.

But Sophronia soon realizes the school is not quite what her mother might have hoped. At Mademoiselle Geraldine's, young ladies learn to finish...everything. Certainly, they learn the fine arts of dance, dress, and etiquette, but they also learn to deal out death, diversion, and espionage--in the politest possible ways, of course. Sophronia and her friends are in for a rousing first year's education.

Truth be told this first one is a bit "thick" but it gets better and better! Shanti is awesome, one of my all time fav heroines. And Cyan is also a great hero! The boys are just adorable!

She is really strong which is great and refreshing but she is also a tud annoying at times. The ghost spin is something new for sure! I can't wait to continue with this and see where it goes!

Same! I have read her Lana Harvey series and absolutely LOVED it. I have high hopes for this!

One of my very fav serieses ever! This was my second Breene series (first was Darkness) and I fell in love. Totally awesomesauce H & h. Both head strong and kickass. So much sarcasm & laughs!

I am almost done with this one and it is awesome! It is insanely long but awesome none the less!

Agreed! Although it has giant holes everywhere I really liked it. Surprisingly so. I have read another of her books and I liked it as well!

I can’t help but smile at the words in her letter. She misses me.

In fifth grade, my teacher set us up with pen pals from a different school. Thinking I was a girl, with a name like Misha, the other teacher paired me up with her student, Ryen. My teacher, believing Ryen was a boy like me, agreed.

It didn’t take long for us to figure out the mistake. And in no time at all, we were arguing about everything. The best take-out pizza. Android vs. iPhone. Whether or not Eminem is the greatest rapper ever…

And that was the start. For the next seven years, it was us.

Her letters are always on black paper with silver writing. Sometimes there’s one a week or three in a day, but I need them. She’s the only one who keeps me on track, talks me down, and accepts everything I am.

We only had three rules. No social media, no phone numbers, no pictures. We had a good thing going. Why ruin it?

Until I run across a photo of a girl online. Name’s Ryen, loves Gallo’s pizza, and worships her iPhone. What are the chances?
