174195 I finished up All the Stars and Teeth for the weapon prompt which gives us a fully functional galleon.

Starting Our Woman in Moscow which will take me a bit as it is 450 pages and I only have the print copy. I will probably start something new on audio tomorrow as well while I do my busy work.

174195 I gave about 50 pages left in All the Stars and Teeth so will for sure finish tonight. It will work for weapon or (since we have a few weapon-ey books in progress) it could work for a fantastical creature toward a second galleon as there are daggers on the cover and a mermaid in the story along with other magic wielding folks.

I'm grabbing dinner then back to reading! 😀

174195 I suspect I likely will finish All the Stars and Teeth tonight or definitely by tomorrow and it has daggers on the cover.

174195 I would think a demigod would count.

I liked The Maidens... It took a dark twist that I wasn't expecting and did manage to surprise me in places which always gets a book bonus points. I think this is one that will likely be a bit hit or miss for people though?

The Road Trip wound up underwhelming me. It also took some dark twists... In a less expected way what with the cute illustrated cover. I haven't read her previous books yet but others in our buddy read said this didn't live up to love for her prior books. It was still a mostly fun read, just didn't wow me.

I actually wound up putting the road trip down as an adventure book because going on a road trip where everything that can go wrong will go wrong with your ex-boyfriend in the car seems like an adventure to me? If that seems too much of a stretch we could certainly change it. Lol

I got in a lot more reading today than expected and finished off my three in progress books. I'm starting All the Stars and Teeth next which I suspect will go fast. It would work for weapon on the cover and likely fantastical creatures.

174195 I will most likely be finishing up The Maidens this afternoon because I'm flying through the audiobook. Not yet sure where it may fit in.

I also have half of The Road Trip left which should go fast after my buddy read discussion on the first half today.

I'm about 100 pages into Horrid and it is moving quickly too.

So, definitely will have one finished off today, maybe even two of the above depending on where the day goes.

174195 I finished up with Grapes of Wrath and plugged it into medium length book because that was all that it fit that was still open. Our ships are developing well!

I'm working on Horrid and The Maidens with a bit more reading before bed. My reading will slow a bit tomorrow with work but I do have some bust work to get done that should allow for some audiobook time.

174195 I just finished The Drowning Kind which I plugged in for water on the cover.

The Drowning Kind by Jennifer McMahon

Still working on The Grapes of Wrath on audio and I'm starting Horrid in print.

174195 I wound up finishing Meet Me in Paradise to finish up the night. I put it in the Yo Ho Ho prompt.

I'm about halfway into Grapes of Wrath and The Drowning Kind - hoping to finish those up tomorrow.
May 22, 2021 07:35PM

174195 I finished Ridgeline and plugged it in for ensemble cast because it had a lot of points if view and that had the least number of options for the prompts this one would fulfill.

I am about two thirds of the way into Meet Me In Paradise so will finish that tonight or tomorrow.
May 22, 2021 11:42AM

174195 I finished The Anatomy of Desire and put it down for mostly green cover since that was one it fit with the fewest options. It would work well for ensemble cast or water on the cover if we need to shift things.

I am going to plug away at Ridgeline next which is interesting but a bit slow. Hoping to finish it out today but I may switch to a faster read at some point to break it up.

174195 Good morning! I have a buddy read group chat this morning but then I have nothing else but reading planned for the day and couldn't be happier about it!

Will definitely finish The Anatomy of Desire on audiobook first as I am about halfway in.

Happy reading all!

174195 We are an ambitious group - I noticed that the formula for number of options isn't capturing all of our listed books. Should be an easy formula fix to expand the range, but figured it was best left to the experts. :)

From the intro, it officially starts at whatever time you wake up Saturday 5/22. :)

174195 Joi wrote: "What does ensemble cast mean?"

I would generally consider it a book where there's more than one or two main characters. I think of books where you're getting four or more narrators or key characters to follow. Someone may have a better / more official definition though!

174195 Hello all I'm the Deborah of message 17! I look forward to reading with you all and to the extra motivation to knock some things off my TBR!

I am getting a loading error when trying to get into the spreadsheet, but I will give it a try from a different computer in a bit. We're having crazy winds going on right now and either had a brief power blip or internet blip a bit ago which may be my issue. I will figure out how to get in there and get to updating it somehow. :)

Edit: It is working fine on my phone and my other computer, so it seems to be a computer specific issue.

174195 I crashed out super early last night but I did add my final read Black Girl, Call Home beforehand as flowers on the cover.

I definitely got more reading done this week than normal and have had fun being a Daisy with you all!
