And saying that friends and family who will not like your posts on Facebook are haters is a kind and gentle thing to say, I suppose. Just saying that my friends and family are much more than potential royalties to me. If that makes me "douchey", so be it.

I think that letting someone not into your genre promote your book can turn against you - especially if their 'word of mouth' reaches the wrong people."Exactly. My dear ol' dad doesn't "get" my writing. It's not his thing and that's fine. He's more than a reader with a wallet to me. I'm more than my books to him.
I outgrew the need to have my mother hang my work on the refrigerator to validate me long, long ago.
Sorry to see so many of you hanging your relationships with your friends and loved ones on whether or not they care about your books or not. To each his own, but life might be much happier if you just let this go.

As stated two days ago in this very thread, the no link rule is still in effect and probably always will be. Discussing setting up web sites - good. Linking to your website - a no no.

The no links rule is still in effect, guys.

If you mean you mistakenly claimed a book as your own here on Goodreads, contact a librarian.

Seventeen of your three hundred eighty-two ratings on your first book are negative. That's less than five percent. Your second book has an average of 4.8 stars.
That's actually pretty good. Not everyone is going to love your book.

I like a lot of suggestions you've been given, but not as much as your working title. I'd stick with it.

I've had that issue, too. Keep trying. Eventually it will upload.

Ashley Marie,
I've yet to successfully enter the world of print copies, but I can tell you that when I publish ebooks on Amazon, they do automatically add on Goodreads. It generally takes about a week. If you don't see your book by then, you may want to add it yourself.
I used to jump the gun and add them right away on here, which often resulted in combining editions and often resulted in things getting messed up and contacting librarians.
Not sure if that's any help...

Link deleted.

And then deleted for bookwhacking. (Pictures / links to all your books is not necessary).

Nat, could you please remove the blurb from your original post? Thanks.
Aside from that, I do like the cover, especially the second version.

It's improved. I would be tempted to condense the first few sentences into something like, "Due to a lab accident, history professor Dr. Victor Forrester has learned he can remember everything, including events from before his birth. It has been a blessing and a curse". Then go into the meat of the story, which you've made much more interesting this time around.
Elkin wrote: " If you wish I can add references to further support what I'm saying here, and give you sources to seek out."If you're talking about links, please don't. We have a rule against it. What you said is fine. We encourage our members to discuss things without referring to outside sources as, quite honestly, most of these conversations are based purely on opinion, anyway. We all have a preferred method of writing and as long as it brings each of us some level of satisfaction, it's the right way.

It's not bad. It's got me a little interested. I guess my only real complaint would be for a thriller, I'm not seeing much going on here that would be thrilling. He has a family member watching him and he doubts his abilities. I'm guessing fans of thrillers would want more.
Maybe some hint as to what his "rewired" brain can do?

You keep trying to drum up interest in your app. I keep taking your posts down. It's time to stop.

Maybe, but I don't like to think of "readers" as one generic breed. I like to think that every reader has their preference and every reader is looking for something new or different. Perhaps a majority of the readers today are in a hurry. I'd like to think there are still readers who want to get immersed in a book, who want to get to know the characters on a deeper level, who want to feel they're in the "world" of the story, and aren't in a rush for the plot.

*chuckle*
I'm glad this topic came up, though. Scale of one to ten, my first novel was about a seven or eight when it came to plot importance. Second novel was about a two. Now, I'm working on something that is about a nine or ten, which is a strange animal for me to tame. Hoping to get some good hints and pointers here.
