But, it's such a clear and clever homage to Star Trek. It made me grin a bit. I'm voting you keep it, Phillip. Hang the pronunciation. It's a fun name.

No hablo mucho español así que estoy usando el traductor de Google. No permitimos promociones de libros aquí y no permitimos enlaces. Gracias.

HI Kayla,
Since you didn't take the time to review our code of conduct, let me explain a few things to you.
We do not allow review swapping of any kind. At all. If you are giving away something to get a review, it's not going to be an honest review, anyway. But, if you must do this, do it somewhere else.
We don't allow links, either.

I have yet to have another writer say, "stop writing like you and write like me". I suppose it happens, but it doesn't seem to be the norm. If it does happen to you, Lucy, you can always disregard the advice. You don't have to do anything your beta readers suggest. You're still in charge of your own book.

It's possible, even likely, they have someone there 'round the clock.

It's not the folder, it's the links. That was the problem.

Your message is below for anyone who missed it, with the links removed.

I recently found a comment posting on my author profile asking for review copies of my book, specifically PDF or EPUB, which wouldn't be unusual except that the poster gave a spammy looking gmail address to contact him.
Barely an hour later, someone else posted a comment on an old blog post of mine claiming to want to interview indie authors, and also giving a dodgy looking gmail address. This person claims not to be active on Goodreads and requested direct contact via their email address.
Both accounts look brand new with no visible activity, only two or four books in their libraries, and are set to private. I would rather raise the alarm and have this turn out to be nothing, but please be wary of people contacting you with similar offers to communicate outside of Goodreads."

I've published a bunch of short stories on Amazon. If there's a minimum word requirement, I haven't crossed it, yet.

It's always a good idea when you join a group to read over the rules first.

Some things to keep in mind: I have been a member here since nearly the beginning and have been a moderator almost that long. I hold the record for most comments here. So...
This is, at most, the third time I've read a blurb here in the workshop and cannot think of one thing to improve it. We know who the main character is and what's at stake. We know what she wants and the obstacles piling in the way. I will come back in a day or two and see if I can find an issue. Until then, nicely done!

And I reserve the right to decline your post. We don't allow authors to hawk their books here, even for free, so that goes for those trying to hawk their services.

Once someone has picked up your book, free or not, it is their copy. You won't be able to see their pages read register in Kindle Unlimited.

It's a good start, but it's bland.
First, which is the main story? Her romance with the dean's son or Jack Page promising to give her answers to her questions. Start with that and flesh it out a bit more. At this point, we know there's a romance she's ducking and she's trying to sort out who she really is. Not much to get excited or interested in.
More details about the "mysterious events" might help. Having no idea who she is now and no idea who she believes she is, it's hard to get interested in her quest for the truth. Some kind of hint about the two life-styles she can choose from might help make that more interesting. Why is she so certain one choice is idyllic? Why is she so certain the other choice is dangerous? And which is which?

If you're bribing someone with a book, the review is not "honest" and the book is not "free". Our rules clearly state this kind of thing is not discussed here. Thanks for ignoring them.
