Sentence: They can disappear so easily, camouflage themselves to blend in with their surroundings, and that's all I really wanted in life.

Yeah I don't think so... The rules for the challenge was to have it as MPG. At the same time, its a book with very few reviews and only two genres listed, so maybe it could work. @Princesspint, I think you should ask in the Q&A thread if Pretty Little Poison is acceptable. If you explain why you think it fits as action then Ashley might let it slide.
Will post the completion for the Food now :)

All this talk about June makes me feel like May is ending very soon! Aaaaah panic for me, as I have not read nearly as much as I would have liked to haha
How's everyone doing? Ready for YA and identity next month? What will you be reading?

I will read nearly anything, but my favorite genres are thrillers, mystery and true crime; howe..."
Hey Allison, welcome! πβ€οΈ
Haha, I feel you on the self help books! The initial burst of motivation I feel after finishing one rarely lasts more than a couple of weeks though π It's good to see that you read across so many genres. I myself like to vary my reading as much as possible, but I have to admit the thrillers and mysteries are not my favorite... π¬ I am easily scared, and often get a bit uncomfortable reading them, especially if I am reading alone late at night π«£
I hope the surgery and the recovery goes well! I'll be sending lots of positive energy your way π
If you haven't already, check out the "Welcome New Members" thread. There should be plenty of information there on how to settle into this group π₯°
If you are looking for a good summer reading challenge to have some fun whilst you recover, here are the ones I will be joining:
π¦ππ₯Water Balloon Wars: Throw a water balloon at the opposite team each time you complete a book. A spin the wheel will decide whether you land a hit, power hit, or miss entirely! It runs from June 1 to August 31, and signups are already open
π«ππPartner Pick for June & July: Link your TBR and how many books you want to read for this challenge for the next two months, and our mod Angie will pair you up with a partner. You will choose what books they will read from their TBR, and they will choose what books you will read from your TBR. Signups are open till May 25th
πποΈπ¦Summer Seasonal Readathon This is individual and less pressure than a full blown reading challenge like the Water Balloon Wars. You read books and track them in your comment, and you are free to make up your own goals and challenges. Collect badges based on how much you read
Maybe you don't like the idea of reading challenges, and that's fine. We have much more to offer, check out the Welcome New Members guide for more information π I hope you will have a good time in this group, whether it is filled with reading challenges or not. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask them in the Ask the Mods thread, or PM any mod.
Thanks for joining us! πβ¨

Other challenges you might enjoy could be the Readathons or the I Like Big Books and I Cannot Lie challenge (since you said you like thick books). There are a plethora of other challenges though, so feel free to check out the Current Challenges List.
Well, I don't know if you are even interested in joining a challenge, but if you are we would be very happy :)

The Darkling is an excellent bad guy. He is dark, refined, brooding and more and he is the perfect villain.t"
I am of the same opinion, Bernadette! Genya was a favourite.
As many of you have already written, I also think the Darkling makes for an excellent character. I am very interested to see what he will do in the following books.

I started the book yesterday, and as you said Ashley, it's an easy read and a breath of fresh air for me too, as I have been kind of in a reading slump the last two weeks. Read for four and a half hours straight yesterday, but it didn't feel like it. I thought I had only read for about an hour, and got a little shock when I checked my watch lol!

The Alina and Mal as small children was heartwarming.
But after that Mal lost me.."
I agree, Skye Blue. I am currently on chapter 19 in the first book and even though he's getting better, I still don't like Mal as a romantic interest for Alina. I think their friendship is precious, and that they should just remain friends. But I don't care too much about the romance in this book. For me it's the world building and plot that I find intriguing. I love the map, I think it is very well drawn, especially the volkra (was that their name? I can't remember...). I also like the keftas. I always find the clothes in fantasy books some of the most interesting things.

This looks like a great TBR π We have a lot of buddy reads in this group, which are threads where you can discuss a book you are reading with other people. Check out this folder to see if anyone is currently discussing something you want to read. If not, post a comment here to find a partner to read books with. When you have found someone, post a comment here and our mod Ashley will make a new thread for you to read and discuss your book. π
You can also discuss whatever you want in the Bookish Chats folder. Post something in an existing thread or make a new one yourself! π
If you haven't already, you could also check out the Welcome New Members thread. There should be plenty of information there on how to settle into this group π₯° I don't know if you would like to join a reading challenge, but if you want to, all the information should be there on step 3 of the guide! π
Looking forward to many good reading adventures with you! πβ¨

I have done my ten seconds ticket dance! πποΈππ₯³
