Well, thanks to Hoopla, I've finished the book. And lo and behold, today I get the message that the actual book is ready for me to pick up at the library!

I don't remember any such thing, either. Nor any confrontation with the nasty police chief.

I think the sheriff is going down. He seems to be the root of a lot of the problems, including Lucy's flat, Rob's arrest, and the death of whats his name in the burning car.

I am a bit more than half way through, though no spoilers here.
Given the long-established issue of the sheriff running things his way without being called on it, I wonder why this hasn't cropped up in previous Lucy Stone books, at least a few we have read here in our group?

I agree about the being reminded of a pleasanter time (despite murders). I think the small town atmosphere is being brought to the present day, with the corrupt sheriff and his hold on the town.

I'm wondering how Bill's new sister will fit into things. Is it just to get into part of the estate of his father? And why can't they find the will? That seems unusually feeble not to know where that is.

I thought there might be a limited number of "borrows" for a book in current demand, but I think I will be done in time, regardless.
Is it me or does book seem a little grimmer that previous Lucy Stone's? I seem to remember a little more lightheartedness.

I don't think Rob's possible murder takes place in this section. I am in chapter 8 and nothing like that yet!
I will be reading ahead, though, as through Hoopla (which I am finding very nice) the book in due in now, 17 days.
Rob does seem like a lot of trouble for Lucy and for the town, and I was suspecting HE might be a victim.

I've already started reading!

A miracle has just occurred. Your humble servant managed to not only load the Hoopladigital app on my Amazon Fire (which I seldom use), but I managed to download The Irish Parade Murder correctly.
I always feel a miracle has occurred when I successfully manage some new computer thing.
I have it for 21 days.

Fortunately, I am of the age where I was in the first group.

I got my Moderna vax Wednesday. It is dreadfully hard to find an appointment here in PA, though. A friend has some secret way to find things and got me one, though I had to drive 85 miles to get there! Some people are driving even further!

Our library participates. I have to get an app, which will have to be on my Amazon Fire, and give it a try.

Starfish: I, too am a huge Wodehouse fan. I have nearly 100 of his books! Haven't read them all yet, but most of the Jeeves and Berties, and also most of the Lord Emsworth's.

Tina: You should try a Wodehouse. I think you will love it. He way with words is unique.

I think you mean Nemacolin Resort. About 50 miles from me. I've been there though many, many years ago. And for a brief time, we were snowbound! No murders, though.

Wow! Thanks to you, Tina and to Mr. Hand!

Crawl spaces sound very problematic for nearly everyone we know about.

That whole business was very strange.

I am not sure. They are closed till Tuesday because of the holiday.
