Attention, members of "MY KIND OF MYSTERY"! Our first "A RIEDEL Clue" this year is about to begin! https://cmriedel.wordpress.com/2015/0...
Child welfare would be a much more professional environment. As a temp I saw millions of industries. Twice, I worked with child welfare departments myself. I sold insurance at CAA (what you call AAA) but found that the hardest part of the whole position. I'm glad you like your position because admins are certainly needed everywhere. Your colleagues and manager makes the difference. Enjoy them, you enjoy your five week-days.I could see you've read a few electronic books. I'm glad to find people who cherish physical books regardless. I've written articles about what's special. :) This would make everyone fall over because I'm very pro-book.... When I get to those reviews, it will come out. I've read my first two, on a free app for PC! I won a prize that could only be an e-book gift, so I looked up how to read it without costing me anything and without having a modern cell phone. I didn't know you could do this and worked it all out. A few series I love were naughty and created novellas that are electronic only. Shhhh......
Yay! Since Florida time is probably my time, you can check it out within the hour. Maybe I'm more in line with Texas. I'm north of North Dakota. Midnight, baby!
At midnight, central North American time (Winnipeg Manitoba and Chicago, Illinois):the first "A RIEDEL Clue" will be live! Here is a preperatory post. https://cmriedel.wordpress.com/2015/0...
A good 12 of those aren't reviewed yet, come to think of it. Thank goodness I had to keep the Canadian literature up to date, which is all I read from April through June. I'm going back as far as 18 next and can stop at 28. The final Canadian author is at 39. Then you can see I am gleefully reading anything but! Feel free to show titles here (text rather than thumnails are preferred for my slow internet) and everyone can chat about them.
Aha. Are you an admin assistant with your own desk space, or is it a fancy title for a front lines role? Most of what I did was office work and I tried avoiding front desks, or internal service roles, like the plague. You have your own job description and yet anyone is able to interrupt your duties and expect you to do those other things. All while not being able to leave the front desk; if it is a phone-responsible job too. I put my foot down at being a receptionist or front desk of any building but internal service wears too many hats. How are you supposed to conenctrate on subpeana paperwork with people and phones approaching you? Eek.Forgive me of course for making it sound depressing if you love where you're at and you chose this. [sheepish placating gesture] I would rather do filing all day in a room that no one enters, than front desk or phones. I like having uninterrupted duties.
As for your home, that sounds wonderful. Any link you have, be sure to share with me here or anywhere, which is your group and home blog as much as anyone's. I think of my challenge guests as owning it with me, shaping it with me. Since you have all those Goodreads peers and manage to visit me just about daily, the least I can do is wobble with my dial-up modem to your blog for a look. :-) Congratulations on being a Mom, a few years late! Yes, room for tall coffeetable books and hardcovers is important. Don't dream that my paperbacks aren't towered atop one another. Hehehehehe.
All discussions are making me smile, including responses to the personal. :) Those not subscribed to the RIEDEL Fascination blog, which is voluntary and who haven't yet e-mailed about receiving a note when activities are posted; this is a place to watch for alerts. Here is a post today, inviting our first reading discussion! There is a summary for challenge members but the chat isn't restricted to us. Anyone with something to say may jump in. It's true of all my posts. https://cmriedel.wordpress.com/2015/0...

My ETHEREAL page is here. http://cmriedel.wordpress.com/etherea...I was thrilled to see this group grow in our second year, along with Gentle Spectrums. They are nearly equal now and are only a little fewer than My Kind Of Mystery. It is an easy theme to fulfill: anything beyond the physical norm. It includes intelligent animals and for example, a novel featuring someone like a nun. Odd phenomenon doesn't need to occur. The spiritual environment is enough to count as something metaphysical. Don't forget that fantasy most certainly counts as otherwordly too.
It makes me happy that you support news, public or personal. Thanks again for comments about my cats especially: the one I've missed since July 31, 2014 and birthdays. My Siamese was 15 on June 13 and my grey tabby will be 11 on July 19. :-) Also thank you for sharing in my relief and good news about Mom's surgery. She and Dad are going to come for a drive and see how are gardens and flowers are doing when she feels up to it.
Drool! A wall of shelves! Even our library (we literally have most of our books in a separate building from our house) is comprised of shelves we purchased. All of these plans sound like great, major changes. If you share before and after pictures at your blog, I'd love to see them. I also find out that you are not only a kitty Mom but have a son. Neat! It's very meaningful to buy one's first new furniture. If you've had 'make do' furniture all this time; what a gift to choose pieces for yourself. Other than those, is $1000 US all the renovations cost? Just supplies and you are doing this yourselves? Sounds like a pretty good deal. I asked about a fence once and $1000 CDN (nearly identical exchange value) was considered a modest estimate.
Work wise, are you a legal assistant? No fun to work on documents that take up time and concentration you don't enjoy. Nor people you don't enjoy. I temped at a law office at a time when an unstable character appeared nearly every day. From day one of the short stint, I was warned to call someone the minute he appeared. I was a professional temp over 15 years before leaving the city. I've seen all kinds of industries!
No? Good. I've been to a few humid places, like Cornwall, England and couldn't believe it. Great for the skin, hair, and nails I'm sure. I have to work at having sandal-presentable feet. Hahaha. I do! A little more cream for a day or so and I'm good. Florida is fairly high on my list of places to visit. My first brother (I have two) has been there recently: this time by car (I'd rather fly!), the previous time to board a ship.Gosh. You live where there are ships. And sunken treasure. And alligators. How surreal is that?
Thank you! I've noticed you & I are neck and neck at about 82, with the same 150 goal. I'm glad you see that this thread has been here for some time. Now maybe the other mystery ladies in this group will jump in with a few titles too.

Reviews I have finished are always available in the following menu, or the Canadian one, in the drop-down bar atop the blog. All of your input for my 2015 groups will start joining me there: Gentle Spectrums, Ethereal, and My Kind Of Mystery.I love visitors to my reviews. Receiving a 'helpful vote' when you get to the Amazon.ca link is always appreciated. :) http://cmriedel.wordpress.com/reviews...
Folks contributing to the mystery theme with me: please feel welcome to make lists here. I hope for comments and updates at the blog but this is a great place for lists. Here is my progress so far.
In case y'all miss the blog post: I wrote to say events are about to begin! You might enjoy introducing yourselves and how your spring and summer are going, here or in reply to that post. https://cmriedel.wordpress.com/2015/0...
On the most important note: thank you for commenting on any of my kitties! They are truly my children and make me very happy. Marigold and her son Conan are worst for turning their heads every way but where I'd like for a photograph. The others are easy, or I've gotten used to working with kitties. I know how you feel!I always think photography is about luck a great part of the time as a whole, with any subject. There are some who technically know certian things to set up, or can guarantee settings working out but for everyone, there's a factor of luck. Therefore when I launched a greeting card company years ago and showed my work at craft sales; I was WAY more touched when they praised my verses. My writing is where I worked and still work (blog articles, activities, reviews) very hard. Almost anybody can take a picture. hehehehe
Hi Erin! I'm glad to see you! I was sorry my most active chatter thought this group was solely for "Gentle Spectrums". I created it and gave it that title because the best contests I could think of for this assortment of themes, are photo based. Easier to post pictures here, than bogging down my blog pages on slow speed internet. I added a "My Kind Of Mystery" discussion thread and indeed, some people here solely belong to that. I'll add an Ethereal thread if others join from that group. There are three pals here who aren't in any of my challenges but are supportive of me, my efforts, and are here to see what's up or chat. So you are far from a sore thumb in this lot! :)
I shared that my Mom had success with heart bypass surgery. Readers are likely on vacation. Here's news about a forest fire crisis in several provinces. https://cmriedel.wordpress.com/2015/0...
