125611 Hi Kristianne! Thank you for wishing me honorary words about my day! :) Until Dad's turn the last week, I view and celebrate all of November as my month. Due to cleaning for two visits of our few cozy guests, my reading was down too. Too tired by the time I went to bed. Today, I'll sneak in the rest of my current novel and small cat quotations book and finish them. Next, I'll print my read list and see which challenges I fulfilled, as a guest. I've only kept track of my own mostly.

This is the good about us finishing January 31. We should encourage more group hostesses to do likewise. Slump all you like through this year and catch up next month! Also remember you don't actually have to review. Just type out your list of titles, in increments whenever you feel like it; among the comments at RIEDEL Fascination or even create yor own thread in this Goodreads group. Cool either way. Hope you enter the blog prize activity. :)

125611 Well! Birthday greetings haven't been trickling in yet, so I don't know how many are looking at their Gentle Spectrums screens lately. Q;-)= Maybe it'll get your attention, that you are finally being given a prize draw! It's here: a Gentle Spectrums topic at the Mother blog. Group members, chime in by November 30th. However this very relatable subject invites limitless input and chatting from everybody, so come on down. It's about sharing bargains you have scored over the years!

125611 Did I not share loudly enough? November 18th is my birthday! For the girl who is very enthusiastic about all other birthdays - let's hear a little hype! :-)

Speaking of grand moments, last month I saw the great Chris DeBurgh in concert; with my fiancé and parents. I have finally written about it here. https://cmriedel.wordpress.com/2015/1...

125611 It's my birthday today! Happy birthday to Carolyn, your hostess!. :) I have awakened to unheard of fog and we remain a few degrees above zero this birthday morning. I have a little more house and library cleaning for a few guests Saturday, there are book reviews, as well as more reading. The kitties & I are going to relax and enjoy this whole day on my *always special* November 18th, savouring each moment and activity we do. I remember my Love vividly by my side on birthday 2013 and miss him every part of every day but he's smiling at me and hugging me still.

Tonight, Ron will bring a vegetarian pizza from our town, perhaps cards from our mailbox, and I will open the sweet, bright packages and card from him sitting on our table. I am guessing what they are. :) I'll have to dress up and wear make-up a little, despite my whole relaxation mode, because photograph memories with him and our cats are dear. I'm also going to show the six little pumpkins that grew this year. Some parts of our garden produced in miniature thus it was a crop to have even these. Pictures, pizza, presents, and pleasant memories as I welcome year number forty-three!

125611 Here is a long-coming article I have written, suited to any of our groups. Whether Ethereal, My Kind Of Mystery, or the endless genres Gentle Spectrums traverses; it is about a gap in what I consider my ultimate favourite book! I hope you enjoy it and comment actively. After all: November 18th is your hostess' birthday! :-) https://cmriedel.wordpress.com/2015/1...

125611 After reading my post, you will. :) I'll see your feedback when you find time to browse it. I am dedicated to helping our American neighbours no longer see us as a vague mystery. This week-end? I need to catch up on mail and I mean the kind you stamp and send! It's birthday season in our family and there are previous prize-winners clearly too polite to ask if I sent their book picks yet. Ron & I might go used book-shopping tomorrow.

You bet I am already amping-up my reading. There are still a few green, thriving plants we are covering on 0C nights, like tonight and all the plants in our house and other buildling, that I transplanted and brought in! However that is less crazy, thus my reading is up at night. I have to keep churning at it to make 150.

125611 I'll get y'all to chat about something eventually. I'm not giving up. For instance: meet our new Prime Minister! Especially today: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MY MOM & DAD! All of this and a precious newborn picture of me, are in the following post. https://cmriedel.wordpress.com/2015/1...

125611 How could I have missed this? A huge chunk of my family members, including me, have absolutely loved the "Back To The Future" films since the beginning. We were children in 1985, whose film goes back in time to 1955. Here's something about me: that is one of my very favourite films of all time and I can quote every instance of it.

In the 1989 sequel, the characters need to rescue family outcomes in the future. Guess what? The date of their travel is TODAY! Happy "BACK TO THE FUTURE Day": October 21st, 2015!!!!
I wish Doc's cliffhanger quote at the end of film I were true about us today: "Roads? Where we're going, we don't need any roads"! https://cmriedel.wordpress.com/2015/1...

125611 I wrote a post for Canadians who might be undecided about our federal election. It is this Monday! This post might be of interest too, to friends from other countries who care about animal welfare. https://cmriedel.wordpress.com/2015/1...

125611 Happy Thanksgiving week-end, everyone.
Oct 08, 2015 10:56AM

125611 P.S. This is the time of year I lament that more hosts don't run outside December 31st! I haven't figured out bingo squares nor supplied URLs, far beyond my sites. I'll be cramming! Thus, even though *we* have until January 31st to share lists of titles, or link to RIEDEL Fascination, I think it worthwhile to clarify: folks don't need to scurry with review page-inputting. Simply listing titles, or sharing progress any way y'all like is lovely. Anything that keeps folks visiting the blog, or this group.

125611 I promised the next riddle would be easier, that is a given. (Thought Patricia Wentworth as a writer born in England was cut & dried. It would seem lots of writers were)! Let me clarify what I'm asking. Alternatively to rolling out the next, easier riddle; I've also had a mystery idea planned that would be camera based. Which of the two would folks be keener about?

No matter, if folks are signed up to the mystery challenge. Until numbers are greater, I'm happy to invite participation from anyone connected with me: Goodreads, blogging, other challenges of mine, a newcomer happening to read the post.... If a number of folks don't appear to have a preference, I think I'll present the camera activity! It's something completely different and creative but as easy or fancy as anyone wishes to make it. What do my readers say?

* If members of this group / my trio of related challenges turn out in spades, I would do a separate draw in deference to you. Gotta cover bases and ensure we aren't presenting all this hoohaw for two entrants, until we grow. :)

125611 Aw, thanks! It can be hard to tell when it isn't very chatty but I know many like to read news without saying anything. As a guest, I also know it's frustrating for a group to conduct too much traffic, so I'm grateful our crew is happily camped on here. :)
Oct 03, 2015 12:18PM

125611 A question geared for "My Kind Of Mystery" and as always, open to all of you! What would you rather see as the next activity? An easier riddle, or a creative camera activity I have had in mind? Which would you be keener to do?

I congratulate those who have finished their pledged challenge levels, whether or not they are in this chat group. I'm aware Yvonne and Bev finished. I have my eye out for what they'll read next! There's no need to retire around here. ;-) FYI, I am not among them. I aim for the max and have thus far finished 60 mysteries. I've read a lot of non-fiction this year and am presently reading.... a romance! I'm outside the box this year. A heartfelt, adult one. Not a teeny bopper vampire fling. Hehehe.
Oct 03, 2015 12:10PM

125611 P.S. This is your group as well as mine. If there are books you'd like people to know about, go ahead and add them to the bookshelf here. Same for photographs. I don't intend for them to solely be mine. Nina added a few books last year. * Stay tuned for the next prize activity. It is themed for Gentle Spectrums! Participation is invited by everyone whom it interests.

We're so small in each challenge, if only a couple from Gentle Spectrums chimed in; I would draw from among all who answered the post! The Ethereal topic closed with no takers. I'm clarifying that my groups are too small to be strict about 'those offically signed up'. I figured we've all preferred to be outside this summer. Let's see who's around to play shortly. :)
Oct 03, 2015 12:03PM

125611 How is everyone doing? Personally? Book wise? I can't believe it's October. Happy birthday to Sarah in Scotland, yesterday! Anyone else since this summer? Mine is November 18. :) It's a good time for updates, which will be seen by Goodreads group members here, rather than create a post for all blog subscribers.

(1) I hope it's clear that you are invited to share in discussions and activities, whether or not you have a blog and whether or not you signed up for one of my reading challenges. I love sharing with each of you and vice versa!

(2) Everyone knows that this year I ditched any obligation to do reviews, right? If you've found the year has zipped by and you don't relish composing nor inputting: just come onto the blog and type a list of what you've read so far. Or if you do write-ups someplace else that discuss your reading journies, sharing that link is a great alternative too. It works for me for you to leave lists here at Goodreads too. Go ahead and find the thread that suits whatever you share.

I decided that the main reason for reviews is to keep members coming back. But a discussion, a hello, or a text-based list of books in the comment section of the blog or this group is the same. You know I'm here and interested in how all of you are diong. :-)

125611 Hello. I thought my peers might be interested in a home gardener's follow-up: no frost threat since September 10, discussed above. That means instead of worrying beside television newscasts and our special thermometer, we happily and freely leave our landscape overnight without any apprehension about covering it. Prayers are answered: all of our landscape, gardens, and flowers are flourishing and finishing. A good thing because our beans and squashes keep producing and I am just seeing blossoming, the most gorgeous gladiolas I have ever beheld! What beautiful multicoloured flowers! The sight of them makes me ecstatically happy, as well as our special flower hill creation that we call "the circle garden". Watch for pictures in upcoming blog activities, or simple sharing posts. And please do show your yards! :)

125611 I'm making little reading progress because it's garden harvest time! It's a month in 'hardiness zone 3' when overnight frost can occur any time. If we see a report of even +2 C, we cover all of our flowers and garden plants that need a little longer to grow. The first time was last night, odd because trees are still green and everything's warm by day. We were relieved the temperature indeed went no lower than +2.5 C. The blossomed landscape of everything we planted will remain as it is. Additionally, flowers and garden produce will continue growing. After there is a frost, grwoth stops and you are protecting plants that might ripen longer on their stalks, or which you had not yet picked.

May our season run longer without frost, since winter itself doesn't arrive these last years until nearly my birthday; well into November. How are your flowers and gardens? Do you have the busy, nervous task of covering your plants where you live? Or is it a place where plants grow all the way, until they dry on their own? Don't miss my post about my kittens' birthday and the previous message above. I write them because comments and conversation on events I share matter to me. :)
