With so many of our great actors and authors quickly aging I think this topic is very much on point. As we sadly lose either an actor or an author I will post their name under this thread if you would care to make a comment.
Should you hear of others that I don't post please send me a message and I will get it added.
To all those mentioned - rest in peace...

I hate the author and will never pick up another one his books, but just like Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert (who is also on my NEVER read again list) - I actually threw away that book after buying it just days before - but then I watched the movie and loved the movie. with Julia Roberts. I fully intend to enjoy the Thursday Murder Club movie also because I really like the actors playing in it. We will see.

As I mentioned in the thread Small Talk, the way I have been working up this group is just overwhelming. I am sitting here with pages and pages of upcoming book to film/series adaptations. I could literally spend hours working every day in this group - which I cannot do. So I am making a format change in hopes of trying to stay on top of the magnitude of upcoming adaptations.
I will be putting a monthly list under this New Approach thread. It may be complete or it may lack everything going on in that month, but I will do my best. Everything already listed in this group will remain as it is for the time being. Over time I will probably archive the older stuff.
There will be one large post each month, with a number of new and continuing shows. You are encouraged to post your comments under that months post. So there may be varying conversations going on about different shows at the same time. You are encouraged to add new adaptations that you hear about right to that thread. If they are future shows I will probably pick them up in the month they actually appear.
I hope this is clear on my intent. I want to keep this group going - would be happy with more input from members - but need to find a way to minimize my time. Let's try this new format for a few months and see how it goes.
If you have questions please send me a message or put them in Small Talk and I will answer you as quickly as possible. Thanks for your patience while I found a way to continue this group and still not lose my mind...lol!

After challenging the Wizard's totalitarian regime in Oz, Elphaba must grapple with her identity as the "Wicked Witch of the West". Meanwhile, the Wizard has given Glinda the title "Glinda the Good" and a public status as the nation's defender against Elphaba. The two witches must make decisions that seal their fates in this second musical installment.

Wicked first announced it was to be split into two films in April 2022, with composer Stephen Schwartz explaining: "The truth is we tried for some time to make it one movie (which) required us cutting or omitting things that we wanted to include that we think fans of the show and the story will appreciate." He added "We found it very difficult to get past 'Defying Gravity' without a break. That song is written specifically to bring a curtain down, and whatever scene to follow it without a break just seemed hugely anti-climactic."
Stephen Schwartz has written 2 brand new musical numbers that will be featured in "Wicked: Part Two".

Somehow I totally missed this one. It is a series on Netflix with 6 episodes - each running approximately one hour - retitled Apple Cider Vinegar for airing. It started Feb 6th and ended March 13th. Based on the nonfiction book The Woman Who Fooled The World. It is classified Biography, Crime and Drama. It ended with a rating of 7.2 out of 10.

Story of how instagram "wellness" guru Belle Gibson had fooled the world and her friends and family with her illness--how she faked cancer, how social media played a part and how her empire came crumbling down when she confessed to lying to the world.

Trivia
A book has been written by the two journalists who uncovered the true case of Belle Gibson; "The Woman Who Fooled The World: the true story of fake wellness guru Belle Gibson".
Kaitlyn Dever took the part of Belle Gibson in order to pay tribute to her mother, who passed away from breast cancer in February 2024.
Although she is portraying an Australian, Kaitlyn Dever is actually an American.
As of 2024, Gibson still owes $400,000 to the victims that were scammed by her. Her home was raided twice and items were seized by police in order to pay them back. She is yet to pay back the money in any form.

SPOILERS Abound in this article, so be warned. Even the killer is announced here!
