118012 Hey Sam, I think this one is supposed to be in another world (not ours), rather than in just another country.

118012 I read Cobweb Bride for this. Sort of a fairy tale take on the Persephone myth, very lyrical writing - and a cliffhanger! It was different, and I liked it well enough to read the sequel, I think.

118012 Congrats, Leslie!! That must be such an amazing feeling!

Do you need any help with ideas for this one, Camille?

118012 That's worth a celebration, Vero!

I often wonder why we put off books that we know are going to be good. For me, I think it has to do with always wanting to save the best for later. Hoarding at its finest. :)

118012 Well done, Renee!!

118012 Clare, enjoy!

Renee, good luck! At least this is a great way to get to some unfinished business. Crime & Punishment is a book that I stayed up really late to finish, and I still remember parts of it even though that was 20 years ago. I think it'll grab you at some point.
118012 This is so true, Holly. I had to think for a minute about the mental health aspect, but you're right, even that's in there!

118012 I'm really excited for this - this is one series that I read as the books came out, and haven't re-read since. Can't wait. I'm hoping to start soon.

118012 Nice. I love it when that happens.

I also found that The Tea Rose unexpectedly fit. It's one of those books that isn't "about" the issues, but deals with them organically.

118012 Exactly :D

118012 I finished my first book, The Decoy Princess, for the Small Straight. It's one I've owned for a while but for some reason never picked up. It's good - less princessy and more assassin-ish than I expected.

My second turn, I rolled 2 fives. The 10th book on my shelf is XO: A Kathryn Dance Novel. I can pretty much guarantee that's not what I would have picked next!

And Sonya, I would, but I was planning on reading LOTR again over Christm..."

Holly, I've decided to jump on board your Harry Potter re-read! And LOTR at Christmas sounds great too - it's been too long since I did that.

118012 I loved Pillars of the Earth! I might join your conversation here, even though I'm not planning on a re-read.

118012 Good to know! I always wonder if such a long-running series can keep it up.

118012 Yay! So glad you're joining in!
118012 I'm about 60% in, and it's getting to the more difficult stuff. I'm taking a quick break to read some lighter fare!

Alessandra, after your comment about the dialects, I wish I was reading in German! I never knew German well enough to read at that level, but it sounds like it would feel more authentic than the American English I'm reading. Ah well.
118012 Ari hit really close to home for me, at least the part of not being sure who he is, what he wants, just wanting to disappear, fade into the background, etc. I admired Dante a lot because he's more what I wish I was, lol.

118012 Is this a re-read of a favorite, or one you haven't read yet? (I'm secretly hoping to land on this space!)

118012 Organizing bookshelves is a wonderful way to spend a day. All the memories of books already read, and all the opportunities that exist there. *Sigh*
