Brown grass... yes, we have a lot of that too. Just starting to see tinges of green. Definitely no flowers yet.

I'm happy for you that spring has arrived! Still waiting for it here. We had snow today, and were only expecting rain.

I finished
A Familiar Tail, a cozy paranormal mystery with a great cat.

I read
The Scorpio Races, and feel that it was very fitting for this challenge. Beware the horse monsters that come out of the sea - and race them too, because that sounds like a great idea when they either eat people or drag them out to sea.

You're doing great, Susy. You finished 6 already!

I finished
A Curious Beginning, which turned out to be less of a mystery than I expected. There's a mystery, but not much sleuthing. Still, I enjoyed it.

Hi Ruta, and welcome to the group!

Finished level 2!
Level 1 (2 Books) - Swipe the duster
1.
What Angels Fear by C.S. Harris (2012)
2.
One Corpse Too Many by Ellis Peters (2009)
Level 2 (4 Books) - Dust bunnies beware
3.
Frederica by Georgette Heyer (2012)
4.
Troubled Waters by Sharon Shinn (2012)
Trisha wrote: "I really enjoy the Elly Griffiths series (but read them in order, as the background stories of some characters develop even though the actual mysteries are different in each book)..."I'm glad to hear this! Not many people I know have read them. Thanks for the tip - I'll definitely read them in order.

I plan to read one (or more) of these:
A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn
The Moor by Laurie R. King
The Crossing Places by Elly Griffiths

Jackie, there's a group of us reading War & Peace this year if you want to join us. We're making pretty slow progress so far I think, but would love to have another reader join in.
Discussion threads start here:
War & Peace Buddy Read.
Amber wrote: "Partner Pick from the list below please. Thank you! ..."Amber, I pick Beautiful Disaster for you. Enjoy!
Camille wrote: "I looked in my list and found L'Angleterre victorienne: Documents de civilisation britannique du XIXe siècle (a collection of documents about English society and history under Victor..."Camille, I think either of those would work. Many classics could fit, since they provide insight to the society of the time. Really anything that offers a broader view rather than focusing on a few individuals in a generic setting.
Vanessa wrote: "I am going to read some of the books from the top 100 goodreads books that l haven't heard of."That sounds like a fun challenge, Vanessa. Good luck!

Penric's Demon might be a good place to start, just because it's short and easy to get into. Then if you like it, keep going from there.

That's great, Jenny, well done!

I finally finished
Frederica by Georgette Heyer. I started it for the readathon... but better late than never!
