Well done, Susy! Looks like you got back on track. :)

That sounds like a decent strategy. :)

One of my childhood favorites, Rosemarie!

My favorites/favourites were Mallory Towers and the Magic Faraway Tree. Also the Wishing Chair. I'm conflicted over my spelling - can't decide which linguistic identity to go with. :)

I read
First Test by Tamora Pierce, part of the beloved Tortall world.

I'm pretty close to the same spot. I've not been as committed to this as I would like. But I am thankful that I'm reading an ebook - I can imagine how heavy it would be otherwise!

Yes, I'd say the magic being a main focus makes it both Fantasy and Sci Fi, which can count for this challenge, especially if Goodreads has Fantasy as one of the top genres.

Would
Magic Bites work for this, Renee? I know it's not actually an insect, but insects bite?

Kathy wrote: "I read Medals in the Attic by Cathy Elliott for a new to me author, rolled an 11 and need a book for tradition and change? Any ideas?"Kathy, looking at your 'to read' shelf, I think
The Summer Wives would be a good choice.

I think there will be, Rosemarie. Probably Renee just hasn't had time to post it yet.

I'm looking forward to some lighter reads this month in this genre. Not sure what I'll end up choosing yet, but there are plenty of options!
