I agree - it's impossible to prepare for a tornado!

Are you in Ontario? That was a crazy storm!

118012 Yeah, we don't get quite as many responses as we did in the beginning. But hey, that just makes it more of a challenge! :)

Aw, that's too bad! We had a doozy of a storm here yesterday, but other than that it's been pretty nice.

Well, the May tally thus far is 506, so that makes the year-to-date total... 3,646. Not quite where we need to be after 5 months, but not impossibly far off either. :)

Yes, it's an odd lull, isn't it? I hope it's because people are enjoying the great outdoors and are away from their computers. :)

118012 Movie adaptations - this is a sore subject for most book lovers. What movie adaptations of books that you've read have angered or frustrated you?

I just read Vanity Fair, then watched the recent movie adaptation starring Reese Witherspoon. I was horrified - they missed the point of the book entirely! That kind of thing happens so often. Such a shame.

118012 The Genre of the Month for July is Utopian/Dystopian. Basically, if a book is set in the future and has either an oddly grim view or an oddly optimistic view of where we're heading, it counts for this month's genre.

To keep it fair and open for all, only one nomination per member, please.

NOTE: Please don't nominate YA books outside of the YA Group Read. Any YA books nominated will be added to the YA poll.

If possible, please use the "add book/author" feature when nominating a book so that people can click the link and see what the book is about.

This thread will close once we have a few nominations, and the poll will open for voting shortly after.
