118012 Hi everyone! Only 4 days to Christmas, eek!

You may see we've made a few changes round the group! It's all very exciting! This is just an update to explain what we've done.

First off, you'll see some new folders. The Monthly Threads folder will now hold all of our monthly update threads, both the general and our Challenge threads (Fiction, Non-Fiction and World-Lit). This just makes things a bit clearer and more organised.

Our Archives folder now holds most of the old 2014 threads that we don't really need, but people may want to refer back to for information etc. If you can't find a post, check there. If you still can't find a thread, post in the 'Any Questions?' thread or just message one of the Moderators. We'll be able to help you out either way.

The Points Challenge will now have it's own folder. This will keep everything together, much like we've done for the 10,000 Challenge. We hope everyone will get involved in it, but we understand that it does take some commitment.

Furthermore, our Group Read - Nominations thread will run slightly differently. We'll be archiving as we go along, so most of the time, the Nominations folder wont be seen. It wouldn't have suddenly disappeared, it will just be empty for the majority of the month. You'll be able to see the nominations still, just the thread will be in the Archives folder. This is just so we don't get a massive build up, and with the new folders, we want to keep things as simple as possible.

If anyone has any questions, about the changes, 2015 or anything, don't hesitate to ask us on the 'Any Questions' thread, we'll try get back to you as soon as we can.

118012 Hi Kimberley, we are in the process of archiving/deleting posts and rearranging everything in the group. In the next few days we will most likely be archiving many old, completed mini-challenges so things should be a bit clearer then.

In the mean time, I believe most 2015 Mini Challenges will have '2015' after them, if this is any help. Hopefully things will be a bit clearer in the next few days for you.

118012 This is it! The big question! Many of you have done amazingly well with your 2014 goals!

The question is: are you going to change your goal? Did you struggle and want to lessen it? Did you find it a breeze and am going to boost up and really challenge yourself next year?

How many do you dare commit to?
118012 For our World Lit Challenge, our first month is South America! For this month, it is books either written or set in South America, or that is written by a South American author.

Countries in South America: Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Falkland Islands.

If you need any help, you can check out these Goodreads lists on South America, here, here, and here.

Please note: Central America (Mexico, Caribbean nations, etc) is part of NORTH America.
118012 Massive battles, deadly scandals or heroic quests? History is such a massive area, there could be so much for you to explore!

Use this thread to post your to-read list for this month's Non-Fiction catergory, or just to generally chat about History this month!

(Just a little nudge. Our Fiction genre this month is Historical Fiction. You could always link your reads!)
118012 This is a really popular genre with a lot of people! Which area of history are you going to look at? Maybe all the way back to the Romans, or perhaps more recently with the World Wars?

Use this thread to post your to-read list for this month's genre, or just to generally chat about Historical Fiction this month!

(Psst. Don't forget, you could have a great time linking your reading with our Non-Ficton theme this month: History!)

118012 Absolutely loving the title, Faye! :D
118012 I've just finished The Duchess of Bloomsbury Street, and it was a lovely follow up to 84 Charing Cross Road. While I definitely prefer 84, I love how Hanff finally got to London, although years too late for Frank! And I personally don't like London nearly as much as she does!

Nevertheless, it was a lovely book, and I'm glad I read it. I just wish there were more people in it from 84!

118012 That's one massive book! Shame about the mixup at the library though! I hate it when that happens!

118012 I CANT WAIT!

I'm having a super slobby day after having the hectic family get-together yesterday. Problem is I can't decide what book to read... Too many options!
118012 We could just say whenever this weekend and report back on Monday? I'm not sure when I'm going to be able to watch it, so I can't really commit to a day/time. :)
118012 Definitely! I'll be watching it. :)

118012 Okay guys, you might see a few changes going on in the folders, etc! We're starting to prep the group for 2015, which means moving a few things around and everything.

We'll be creating an Archives folder for old 2014 posts that we don't need anymore, or things that are out of date. If you can't find a thread, check there!

And we've had a whopping 63 of you sign up for our December Readathon. I hope everyone has their books ready!

Don't forget, we've got our polls for the first Group Reads of 2015! So get over there and vote for your favourite!

118012 Finished A Christmas Carol! After being a life long fan of watching A Muppets Christmas Carol, which we watch every Christmas, I have a new found love for it knowing how close it actually was to the book. It is basically word-for-word!

I might continue with The Chimes or The Haunted Man. Perhaps!

118012 I'm definitely going to try complete this in 2015. Might do me well for the Decades Challenge too!
118012 I hope you enjoy it, Cristal!
118012 All of these books sound fascinatingn
118012 I might save it for the readathon, unless I get a sudden urge to read it! (Which is frankly highly likely!)

118012 Finally got round to it, just starting A Christmas Carol.

Little did I know that my edition actually also includes The Chimes and The Haunted Man!
