118012 Some people's reading has been insane!

My plan for the rest of today (spent the morning traveling back to Uni) is going to be spent attempting to finish North and South!
118012 Our focus for May is on books that can help you improve, or explore the myriad of health-related topics! So there's plenty to choose from this month!

Whether you want to look at improving your confidence, family, or your health, there's loads of opportunities here to examine both yourself and the genre!
118012 This month we go round the world to Central America, including Mexico and the Caribbean!

Countries include: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Bay Islands, Guyana, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago.

There's a lot of countries there, so there's plenty to choose from!

Remember, it needs to either be written or set in any of the countries, or be written by a Central American, Mexican, or Caribbean author!

Check out the Goodreads shelves on Mexico, The Caribbean, and Central America for some ideas!

118012 Are you going with Wizards or Ghouls, Goblins or Mystical worlds?

May is the time for fantasy, and whether you want to go for epics, or YA or classic fantasy, it's up to you!

The Goodreads genre page for Fantasy has an amazing amount of information, and might be able to give you ideas for the route you want to go!

(Note: please be aware that we also have Sci-Fi/Dystopian as our Genre in September, so you might want to avoid space and depressing worlds in this month! But if you have the urge to read the latest dystopian fantasy series, we won't stop you!)

118012 Yes Renee! That's a fabulous achievement! Time to celebrate? :D
118012 I might do the same, depending on how much I like One Hundred! :)
118012 I will definitely read this! I bought it a few months ago and it's been sitting on my shelf waiting to be read!
118012 I'm a bit of a self-help/productivity junkie, so this sounds super interesting to me!

118012 I can't exactly say no to 70p books! :P

118012 Fingersmith by Sarah Waters
The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom
The Road by Cormac McCarthy

Very excited to start them. Although I'm still on North and South and Wool Omnibus. Both of which are proving to be really interesting!

118012 Kassandra, that's an amazing number!

Although I haven't read much so far today, I did go out and buy 3 new books, oops. (blushes)

118012 Yeah, the app is good for a lot of things, but it's particularly poor for groups..

Glad you got it sorted, Sam!

118012 That's an insane amount of books, Renee! I don't know how you do it!
118012 I'm currently roughly half way through North and South, which I can't get into, so I might dedicate this readathon to getting myself back into reading.

So I might go for:

Wool
Atonement
Othello
The Knife of Never Letting Go

118012 I really need to kick my fanfiction reading habit. It's not helping this readathon whatsoever! :P

118012 Hey guys!

The polls are now at the top of the list and far more accessible! If you click on the poll link to the right, they should be right there before you!

Crisis averted!

118012 I'm hoping this readathon will get me back into reading again. I've hardly read anything this month (unless you count an unhealthy amount of fanfiction...)

It's a lovely day outside, for once here in England, so I'm going to sit out in the garden and try make further headway with North and South.

It's great to see so many people starting already!

118012 Only 3 days to go!!

I'm not sure how much reading I'll get done, but I can't wait for that buzz of all of us reading together!
118012 Jodie, if you can, try get a hold of a No Fear copy of Much Ado About Nothing. They print them so on one side is the Shakespeare, and the other half is modern, normal speech.

That might be quite helpful!

118012 If I'm running out of time, I might add it! That's if I actually remember to stick to half the challenges I sign up to ;)
