I'm not sure where you meant this to go, but it has shown up as "general." (Which usually happens when creTinf a thread via app.) I can redirect it if you let me know your intention.

Cindy- Great idea! I encourage any "late" joiners to backfill with books they've read since January 2016.

Lol! That actually makes me deliriously happy! The mini-minis need love, too! :-D

Glad you found it motivating, Leslie. :)
I usually try to set up a bunch of Year-Long Challenges in January, then supplement with shorter duration challenges (like bingo) throughout the year to keep up momentum. Every month I do single-month mini-mini challenges, too. Something for everybody!
The single book minis might appeal to you more. You can challenge yourself to complete them in a day or weekend if that's motivating for you. (There will probably be some Readathons later in the year, too.)

Hooray! Glad to have you in the kitchen, Ladies!

Last year I tried for 12 nonfiction and only read about 6 so I completely understand reserve. I'm just trying for 3 this year but may up my goal if it starts looking like I can do more.

Cool! There are there's still a month and a half for this one! (We can do something with Valentine in the title for February if we need to.) I saw more Januarys and lots if March possibilities.

Absolutely! Congrats, Jodie!

That's hilarious and, YES!, I admire your restraint. :D

I've got a couple of possibilities lined up for this. I'm looking for things that are different from my usual choices. :)

I'm definitely doing the Decade. And I agree that the early 1800s are difficult. Once you get past the first decade it's easier. Jane Austen and Walter Scott come along, then all the Victorians. If you've already done the first decade, the rest should be a piece of cake!

Great Going, Agnik! Happy Valentines!
Sarabi-
I just noticed that you're doing something called the Romance Diet. That's just Awesome!
This is totally my favorite mini so far. You guys really got into it! So much fun!

Um, okay, sure. He looks like a peculiar cherub!

I didn't have the same negative reaction to him as others. You understand more about him as you read further into the book. I think the most telling bit was when Georgie says Neal doesn't laugh when he thinks something is funny; he laughs when he's happy.

Muslim Girls counts if finished in February.
I'd love you to try to find another form of media to vary things up and keep within the challenge but...
1) No one will know.
2) The idea behind this mini was to get members to explore these authors. I'd rather you read both in paperback than miss out on some great reading. :)
