Finished my color challenge and PIFM books and 1 translated book.

For April I am going to attempt two more box sets and some graphic novels. The first read of the month was great so fingers crossed the trend continues.

1176148 Finished my first pick, The Wolf and the Watchman by Niklas Natt och Dag The Wolf and the Watchman by Niklas Natt och Dag

This is two months in a row I have found mystery books I liked. My least read genre so fingers crossed for more mystery reads. Overall a good story in terms of character development and plot.

This book is definitely blunt in regards to conditions in the 18th century in Europe, Little rights for women, poor living conditions ect. Also the second part starts off with a character writing a letter to his sister about his bowel movements in detail… mild compared to the murder but something to think about before you commit to reading.

I added it also 🤷🏻‍♀️ And a few times I purchased a book only to realize I had a copy I had not read yet…lol….

1176148 Finished my second pick, An Undeniable Rogue by Annette Blair. This was a good start to a regency romance series. Just the right amount of romance, suspense and humor for me.

Day trips sound like an awesome idea. Glad you had fun plus the books will be waiting for a dreary day when you can snuggle in your reading nook with them.

1176148 Finished my first, Whirligig by Andrew James Greig. Not a big mystery reader but gave this 4.5 because it caught my interest immediately and I did not want to put it down.
1176148 Finished my first pick, The Guncle by Steven Rowley . I enjoyed this very much, not adding more since a few people have this on their Color list this month.

At least February was a short month but weather was definitely bad. Hope you have some great non fiction this month!

1176148 February Recap

It was a great month to catch up on some old books sitting on my TBR. I am disappointed to have started Solovyov and Larionov for the third time but stopped at the third chapter. I just can not get invested in the story. Oh well lots of other reads….

Also very happy to have read more for the OTSP plays ect. Challenge. Starting to appreciate short stories.

*Translated 3 of the 19

Not certain about March reads but going to aim for completing two box sets along with my PIFM, color and genre challenges. This month’s genre is mystery and thrillers. Mysteries aren’t my favorites but going to aim for completing five.

1176148 Finished Mary Ann Sate, Imbecile by Alice Jolly. 💖💖💖💖 Had no idea when I picked this up last year it was free verse. Once I got familiar with the writing style it was fascinating.

I am also amazed I have finished at least one book in each category this early in the year. Still planning to continue but if I stopped today I would count this a successful challenge.
