Good to know. It’s been on my TBR for about 2 years and I keep passing over it.

I understand and will follow the rules but then using the argument that my box set was originally published separately then classics like The Pickwick Papers shouldn’t count since segments were published separately, and in papers not bound volumes. Well actually much of the 19th century British literature that we now read as a “book” was published in volumes to increase revenue. So I will not count those either.

Not trying to be difficult, just pointing out how the publishing business alters our perspective.

But it was republished as a box set. I do not understand why box sets can not be used. You can clearly see Good Reads denotes it as one “book”/ image… a separate entity from each individual one with it’s own publication date. Hence it is one large tome that has 4 parts.

But I am not a mod so I bow to your rules.

1176148 Finished my first two books.

The Ritual by Shantel Tessier 💖💖💖 a dark new adult romance, had one interesting twist that was glossed over at the end. Oh well plenty of similar books out there 🤷🏼‍♀️

No Friend but the Mountains Writing from Manus Prison by Behrouz Boochani 💖💖💖💖💖 heart breaking, sobering, yet shows the tenacity of the human spirit to survive.

1176148 Finished No Friend but the Mountains: Writing from Manus Prison by Behrouz Boochani. 4.75 stars. It is a mix of poetry and narrative regarding the author’s interment in Manus Prison. I also categorize it as epistolary because he wrote the entire book by test message or voice mails to people outside the prison. Heart wrenching but to me something necessary to read so that the potential and real horrors of refugees can be better comprehended by those lucky enough to be spared such atrocities.

Congratulations on finishing the books left from last year. Happy to hear you are being cautious. I have three doctors doing virtual appts but have to go to several in person along with PT. Cancelled Physical Therapy this week just to be cautious.

I too am fearful about what naproxen does. I have been eating them like m&ms but my new nerve meds have helped me cut down the dose.

Hoping you both have a happy and safe 2022 Martha🎉📚🎉

I tried looking it up online and came across a digital copy of possibly the original book. Check out the link and let me know if this is what your physical copy looks like. Beautiful cover if it is. Plus you have to love that the library of Congress gets copies of everything and now puts them online!
