This sounds good, adding the series to my TBR.
I also have trouble with unusual names in fantasy/sci-fi. Especially if the spellings are similar to other characters. It gets very frustrating and disheartening when it’s a book you know you could enjoy if the names were easier to keep track of.

Glad to hear you are recovering. Several people I know have the lingering cough. Think positive and take the time to enjoy a good book (or 4) and a hot cup of tea/coffee, both can work wonders on your time recovery.

I hate when that happens. Hope the next read is better.

1176148 Shit Cassandra Saw by Gwen E. Kirby was a happy accident I found at the library.

An amazing creative and experimental collection of short stories. 💖💖💖💖💖 I can not pick a favorite. Funny, at times raunchy, amazing characters. The book title comes from the first story entitled Sh#t Cassandra Saw That She Did’t Tell The Trojans Because At That Point F##k Them Anyway After that it is a fantastical rollercoaster ride of stories.

1176148 Finished my third pick The Apothecary Rose (Owen Archer #1) by Candace Robb . 5 /5 I like medieval stories and this was mostly historically accurate (author actually explains at the end what she changed) with interesting character arcs and a decent mystery. Definitely reading more of the series.

1176148 Really enjoyed my second pick, Fear Icons Essays by Kisha Lewellyn Schlegel . Kisha Lewellyn Schlegel’s essays kept me wondering how she was going to connect her fears to different cultural icons. My thanks to the person who placed this in the neighborhood tiny library!

1176148 So happy I found Fear Icons: Essays by Kisha Lewellyn Schlegel in the little book library in the neighborhood park a few weeks ago.

Great writing where she contemplates her her fears while associating them with everything from guns to Dolly Parton. I was never sure where she was going but I definitely enjoyed each essay.

Looks like a nice mix of books this month, enjoy!
1176148 Yippee finished box #4 maybe I will complete this challenge!

The Smithfield Market Romances: A Sweet Regency Romance Boxset This collection of Regency Romances was just a mediocre read to me. Four sweet romances about 4 orphans. 💖💖💖
