An extensive selection of Alice Munro's short stories throughout her writi..."
I've read a few of her collections. She does know how to present a short story, something that isn't easy to do. It's quite different from writing novels. She was definitely an expert in the genre.

For your interest.

I would read the next Maigret but it's currently on order. If it doesn't arrive by end week, I'll read The Flemish House instead. For now I'll read The New Girl, an interesting YA graphic novel by Cassandra Calin

2 by Georges Simenon as he is my August focus author.
1. Maigret in Holland (#8). Maigret heads to Holland to assist a visiting French lecturer who is suspected of murdering his host. 4.0 stars
2. The Grand Banks Café (Maigret #9). At the request of an old school friend, Maigret changes his vacation plans and hauls his good wife off to the coast to a fishing village to investigate the murder of a fishing boat captain. (3.5 stars)
3. Time Gladiator by Mack Reynolds Pulp Sci Fi, a bit of Hunger Games gladiator battles and also kind of a spy story. Good enough to make me get the other 3 books in the series. 3.0 stars
4. With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo I've now read 3 of Acevedo's YA stories. Always excellent. Young teenage mother in high school in Philadelphia, trying to realize her dream of being a chef. Well - written and touching. 4.5 stars (my favorite of the month so far)
5. Nothing Special, Volume One: Through the Elder Woods by Katie Cook. Entertaining YA graphic novel fantasy. Great artwork and super adventure. (3.5 stars)
6. Sidney Chambers and the Perils of the Night by James Runcie (Grantchester Mysteries #2) Excellent, gentle collection of short stories set in Grantchester and following Canon Sidney Chambers as he investigates various murders / crimes and tries to sort out his love life. (4.0 stars)
