Completed 15 books, 9 since my mid Aug update. According to Goodreads, 97 of 120 completed so far. Approx 3,600 pages in August.
My favorite book of August was With the Fire on High

Since mid - August (5 of the 8 were graphic novels)
1. Maigret at the Gai-Moulin by Georges Simenon (Maigret #10) 4.0 stars
2. The New Girl by Cassandra Calin. Graphic novel about a Rumanian family's move to Canada and the adjustment. 3.5 stars
3. Autocracy, Inc. by Anne Applebaum How autocrats work together and the tricks they use to take over. Very interesting and topical 3.5 stars
4. The Deep Dark by Molly Knox Ostertag Ostertag is author of the Witch boy trilogy. This is much more adult. 4.0 stars
5. Ariel by Sylvia Plath. Beautifully written poetry collection, even if I don't always get what's being portrayed. 3.5 stars
6. Pavane by Keith Roberts. Alternative history; what if Elizabeth had been assassinated. 3.0 stars
7. East of West, Vol. 2: We Are All One by Jonathan Hickman Western, fantasy graphic part 2, Interesting 3.5 stars
8. A Guest in the House by Emily Carroll beautifully drawn graphic horror story. Not terrifying but definitely creepy. 4.0 stars
9. Shout Kill Revel by Jarret Hartnell Another well drawn graphic; horror, western, fantasy. not sure I got the ending.... 3.5 stars

1. Old Man's War by John Scalzi (#1). I'm enjoying. We're just moving on to basic training.
2. The Time Hoppers by Robert Silverberg (next book in my 12 + 0 - Sci Fi challenge)
3. Skyscraper by Faith Baldwin. Just getting into it. I like how it's written.
4. Linghun by Ai Jiang This is my September Focus book.
5. Death of a Celebrity by M.C. Beaton Beaton, author of Hamish MacBeth and Agatha Raisin mystery series is my Sept focus author.
6. The Xibalba Murders by Lyn Hamilton first book in the Lara McClintoch, Antique mystery series (I've read others), this one set in Mexico.
7. Wanderers by Chuck Wendig I'm making good progress with this. It's interesting and reads nicely and is strange.
8. In the Lives of Puppets by T.J. Klune I like Nurse Ratchett especially.
9. The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson slow but steady progress on this fantasy
10. Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus I'm enjoying. Kind of quirky a la World according to Garp
11. The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin The slowest book in my Le Guin 12 + 4 challenge

1. Cosmic Engineers by Clifford D. Simak My next 12 + 0 challenge book
