116885 Sorry guys, I'm late creating the thread :O Hope you'll join me on this read :D Something different, looks very interesting.

Here we go:

"Others. They walk among us. Observing.

Set in contemporary Moscow, where shape shifters, vampires, and street-sorcerers linger in the shadows, Night Watch is the first book of the hyper-imaginative fantasy pentalogy from best-selling Russian author Sergei Lukyanenko.

This epic saga chronicles the eternal war of the “Others,” an ancient race of humans with supernatural powers who must swear allegiance to either the Dark or the Light. The agents of the Dark – the Night Watch – oversee nocturnal activity, while the agents of the Light keep watch over the day. For a thousand years both sides have maintained a precarious balance of power, but an ancient prophecy has decreed that a supreme Other will one day emerge, threatening to tip the scales. Now, that day has arrived. When a mid-level Night Watch agent named Anton stumbles upon a cursed young woman – an uninitiated Other with magnificent potential – both sides prepare for a battle that could lay waste to the entire city, possible the world. With language that throbs like darkly humorous hard-rock lyrics about blood and power, freedom and responsibility, Night Watch is a chilling, cutting-edge thriller, a pulse-pounding ride of fusion fiction that will leave you breathless for the next installment."
116885 Well, let us know how the second one is when you get to it. I haven't committed to it yet.

116885 Oh hey Nick :D

What's up, guys?

My mom went home. I'll pretend that I am a good person and lament that fact.

Ian needs the Twitter.

116885 Haven't seen the movie, I quite enjoyed it. 4 stars. I would have like more intensity between Johnny and Greg. Favorite part was when he stopped Chuck from going to the restaurant.

116885 I think they'll have to kill the pastor, too. That'll be Paige's moment of reckoning. Agree w anticlimactic. She had no questions for them, really?

Hi Ian, and everyone. My mom is in town. So that's why I've been quiet. Keep me and my sanity in your thoughts.

116885 That's a solid idea.

116885 Omg don't they? I read that and I was like man, I really need to make sure my husband knows to pull the plug.

116885 I was so upset about the dog. I had a moment of 'damn, do I really wanna read this?' But, yanno. King just had to let us know he's the worst asshole ever.

Also, with Vera. King loves him some religious mania. Always creepy.

116885 I think you've solved the mystery, Lena.

116885 The Dead Zone is only 400 pages, not one of the heavy King tomes. So far it seems like it's going to be a pretty quick read.

116885 Alright, cool.

Haven't seen it, Amanda. I don't get to watch many movies but OH. You know what I did start watching on Netflix last night? Salem. It was horrifying. Not what I thought it would be at all. It reminded me a lot of Penny Dreadful. Kim, you might like it.

116885 Ian, I have A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1) by George R.R. Martin (in no hurry to read this), Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay , Pentecost (Arcane, #1) by J.F. Penn , & The Summer Tree (The Fionavar Tapestry #1) by Guy Gavriel Kay .

Probably others, I'm sure.

116885 Yeah, I have thought about it. I have a few on my TBR, but nothing really screaming my name.

But is she crazy tho, Ian? Maybe you do need one, so you can find out if they're crazy beforehand.

116885 I don't know! I've been reading disappointing books. Went back to Stephen King. I need a UF hiatus. Badly. About to do some homework. Spent some time reading by the pool. Sometimes eternal summer is really nice.

How are you, Ian? Got yourself a dating profile yet?
