116885 Yes, I did not like it as much as I hoped. It was frustrating to see her constantly holding back. And the dogs. But by the end it was obvious why she had held back. The next day I felt better about it but it was not a fun watch for me.

116885 Oh yes they would. I read about half of Frank Herbert’s The White Plague where women were going extinct. One of the last ones was kept hermetically sealed. Now I want to know how it ended. I misplaced the physical book.

Interesting.

116885 I’m 13% in. Gideon the Ninth is Chronicles of Riddick with a slap of trashy Dune, all that I like. BUT it’s also a YA Mean Girls Cinderella and that is not going down well. Is it going to be hundreds of pages of Gideon being screwed over by Harrow?

116885 Moira Quirk is my favorite British narrator.

The Decide Machine by Justin Coates ★★★½☆
A bumpy start leads to an epic battle in this Lovecraftian ode to Pacific Rim.
116885 Ground Zero by Kirsten Cross ★★★☆☆
Special forces verses Dracula, his lieutenant, and various taints. Taint is a hell of word to use for a vampire. In American, besides meaning something undesirable/polluted, it also refers to the space between a man’s balls and his asshole. There, now that’s a thing you know.

116885 Finished The Einstein Intersection: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Well, better luck next time for me.

116885 I’m halfway through Intersection, it’s a post-apocalyptic future primitive story with mutants. It’s been unpleasant:

“Once, when I was on fair terms with him, he gave me one of his daughters. Butchered and dressed her himself. Fresh meat is scarce in town.”

Not feeling the award winning value here.

116885 I finished Trail of Lightning! https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Aug 02, 2021 07:53PM

116885 I’m almost done with Trail and I’m enjoying it but the backstory was weak. Native American X-Men is great idea but there is suppose to be a catalyst for impossible powers. It’s explained as clan gifts but why now and not then? I just rolled with it and, for better or worse, by the halfway point it just felt like an other urban fiction world.
