El Moe by Rod Sterling ★½☆☆☆ That was just the rough draft of a story and should not have been published.

The Good Neighbor by Whitley Strieber ★★★☆☆I don’t know what to say about that. At first, it was a story about a greedy bank crushing a neighborhood, then alien racism, then revenge, then it got properly weird. Strieber is good with haunting imagery, too good really. I wish I had not read The Hunger and there is only one other book I can say that about.
30% in. Hating this book. It’s creepy neighbors and an abusive racist family. It’s probably an accurate depiction of the time but not a great read.

Ghost Writer by Robert J. Sterling ★★☆☆☆It added a little something to realize it was Abraham Lincoln, but still a nothing little story.
The Soldier He Needed To Be by Jim DeFelice ★★★☆☆
A clumsy soldier receives an iPod in the mail that gives him the courage to be his best.
Ants by Tad Williams ★★★★☆
In a moment of rage, a man brutally kills his wife. Their ant infestation, the source of the final argument, actually helps him clean up the crime scene - an indict him.
Your Last Breath, Inc. by John Miller ★★☆☆☆
A cat selling stolen last breaths through exotic models squatting. Yes, it does sound more like an SNL skit than The Twilight Zone. But it reminded me a little of Stephen King’s Cat’s Eye (1985).
Family Man by Laura Lippman ★★★☆☆
An asshole family man discovers that even without the family he would still be an asshole.
Triangle of Sadness- Woody Harrelson making fun of rich people. https://youtu.be/1Q6005GJsDwI laughed at the grumpy brand vs happy brand but the rest of the preview, other than the sails (lol), will need more context to be funny.
The dolls were carved exactly like them. With so much attention paid Scout noted things about her brothers hair she had never seen before. That’s more creepy than voodoo dolls.
An adult has been leaving them gifts in a tree hollow. The latest are carefully studied wooden miniatures of them.“Maybe he sits on the porch and looks at us instead of Miss Stephanie. If I was him, I would.” Jem stared at me so long I asked what was the matter, but got Nothing, Scout for an answer. When we went home, Jem put the dolls in his trunk.“
I’m 21% in and this is a story of a young brother and sister being groomed by a pedophile. That this is the great American story feels like a bad joke.
I have no intention of watching HBO betray and slay powerful women so I was cheered when I saw The Serpent Queen on Stars: https://youtu.be/CguaggvMEII
