I've known about the KISS theory for in excess of 30 years and it has been around longer then that.

Here is one I saw on a little plaque, "I am not having a hot flash I am having a mini Caribbean break." I liked it so much I got it for my sister-in-law, she now has it hanging in her kitchen.

In the Military we always said KISS was Keep it simple stupid. I often used it when I was instructing people, the smarter they are the dumber they act. I had one officer claim his IQ was verging on 140, I told him he might be a genius but as someone with a IQ measured less then 80 (according to the school that is) I was smarter then he was. I know when to listen and shut up when someone was giving instructions on something I wasn't an expert on. Needless to say he wasn't to happy with that statement.

It all stems from politics. If you say your English you are told you are being non conformist. Welsh Irish (Northern Ireland) and Scottish people are there nationality first and British second, but if your English you have to be British first. In the states you are American first region second and state third.

For example I am American from the East coast or as a southerner say northerner, and someone from Massachusetts last of all.

Are we confused yet I know I am LOL but I was born that way.

If you want a big splash I can give you a tidal wave it will suit several people the wave a splash. If that isn't suitable I will flood you with request for rivers of information and water ever you do don't fall or you will get inundated and swept away.
