Hi everyone! I've created a new group for 2025 if you wanted to start this challenge again!https://www.goodreads.com/group/invit...
If you're planning on doing the challenge for 2022, please head on over to the new group I've created, located here: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...I will get everything posted in the next day!
So, how did we do? Did anyone end up finishing the challenge? If so, did you finish it months ago? Or hours ago? Did you have fun this year?
I also got a few more books read this week!1. 'One Last Stop' by Casey McQuiston, which is from the author of 'Red, White, and Royal Blue'.
2. 'One of Us Is Lying' by Karen McManus, which I used for a locked room mystery.
3. 'The Plus One Pact' by Portia MacIntosh, which was another fun romcom.
I read a few books this week!1. 'The Marriage Game' by Sara Desai, which was a really fun romcom. 4/5 stars for me!
2. 'Missing the Beat' by Cait Marie, which was the 3rd book in the Bennu Firebird series.
3. 'The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue' by V.E. Schwab, I read this for a prompt and it was a 3/5 stars for me.
I read 'One of Us Is Lying', which was really good! I didn't know it but it's actually the first of a series.
I finally got caught up on both challenges this week!1. 'Sweet Talk' by Cara Bastone, which is the sequel to 'Call Me Maybe'.
2. 'Crown of Guilded Bones' by Jennifer L. Armentrout, which took me FOREVER, but I finally finished!
3. 'Accidental Tryst' by Natasha Boyd, which is the first book in the Charleston series. This follows Trystan and Emmy, who accidentally swap phones in the aiport. What starts as a way to communicate to get their phones back may turn into more as they help each other navigate their home towns.
4. 'Inconvenient Wife' by Natasha Boyd, which is the sequel to above, following Trystan's cousin.
5. 'Making the Play' by Cait Marie, which is the first in the Bennu Firebird series. These books take place on Bennu's campus, and I highly recommend.
6. 'The Package' by K. Bromberg on audible.
7. 'The Gilded Ones' by Namina Forna, which I used for an afrofuturist book.
8. 'Meeting the Star' by Cait Marie, the second in the Bennu Firebird series.
I read 'The Gilded Ones' by Namina Forna, and it was SO good! Can't wait to read the sequel next year.
I finally read The Heir Affair by Heather Cocks, which is the sequel to The Royal We, and I liked this one more than the first.I also read 'Desperate Measures' by Katee Robert and 'The Best We Could Do: An Illustrated Memoir' by Thi Bui.
I reread the Royal We by Heather Cocks this week, which I enjoyed! Although re-reading did raise more questions lol.
I got some more reading done this week!1. Call Me Maybe by Cara Bastone, which is the first in a series. Really good listen to on audible!
2. Sleepless Over You by Sydney Smyth.
3. Gold Spun by Brandie June, which is a Rumplestiltskin retelling.
4. Freed by Helen Hardt, the newest in the Steel Brothers saga.
5. After the Fairy Tale by Terence Gray.
I listened to a TON of audio books today (just found audible original rom-coms) so here is my list!1. 'A Tail as Old as Time' by Elle Hay
2. 'Bridesmates' by Sydney Smyth
3. 'These Hollow Vows' by Lexi Ryan
4. 'The Stand-In' by Lily Chu
5. 'The Perfect Play' by G.S. Carr
6. 'The Set Up' by Falguni Kothari
These were all great! 'These Hollow Vows' was not a rom com, but I loved it!
This week I read 'If the Shoe Fits' by Julie Murphy - and I HIGHLY recommend! I loved this book. It's a Cinderella story that follows Cindy as she goes on Before Midnight ('the bachelor') to promote her shoe designs, but will she actually find true love?
