1137814 This week I read an ARC called ‘Free Me’ by Kat Winters, which is not yet on Goodreads. It was such a great read, and I love the fact the author has a disclaimer of info in the book on the back of the book and first page.

Week 14 (3 new)
Apr 12, 2021 04:51AM

1137814 I finished a couple of books this week!

I read ‘The Backups’ by Alex de Campi, which is a graphic novel following a group of girls singing back up for a summer tour of concerts. Really cute coming of age stories, this releases this week (or last I can’t remember).

I also re-read ‘The Red Queen’ by Victoria Aveyard, which I really enjoyed rereading. I was about to pick up ‘War Storm’ which is book 4, but I hadn’t read the series in over 2 years so I figured I would reread them.

Week 13 (4 new)
Apr 05, 2021 07:02AM

1137814 I finally finished a few books this week, and have almost caught up on both challenges!

1. ‘Queen of Nothing’ by Holly Black. This is the 3rd and final book in the ‘Folk of the Air’ trilogy. Such a great ending to the story - even if I didn’t want to read it at first because of the ending of book 2 lol.

2. ‘Lost in the Neverwoods’ by Aiden Thomas. This was an ARC I received from NetGalley, and I really enjoyed it! Reimagined Peter Pan, we follow Wendy as children start going missing in the town, and according to Peter Pan - who she thought wasn’t real - she is the only one who can stop it. Can she also find her brothers?
I really enjoyed it - and it also was a book that wasn’t all magical endings, but rather like a Pixar movie and what happened was what needed to.

3. ‘Go the Distance’ by Jen Catolina. This is a reimagined Disney story, one of the twisted tales. It follows Megara as she tries to become a God. Why? Well at the end of Hercules, Zeus doesn’t let Hercules go back to Earth. So they only way for them to be together is for Meg to complete Hera’s quest. But being with Hercules forever is a long time - is she up for that? She’s learned not to trust men, the last time she was burned. But she’ll try to figure it out along the way of her quest - which ends in 10 days. Can she complete it? Can she face her past along the way? Will she become a god?

4. ‘Talking as Fast as I can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls and Everything Inbetween’ by Lauren Graham. I read this for the category of a TBR you associate with your favorite person, place or thing, and I love the show Gilmore Girls so it’s a win win! Such a great read, I listened to the audio book which Lauren narrates and she does a brilliant job.

1137814 For the week of Mar. 28- Apr. 3.
1137814 I’m currently listening to ‘Talking as Fast as I can’ by Lauren Graham, and plan on using it for this category! She’s the one who reads the audio book so it’s really fun to listen to!

1137814 Currently reading ‘Lost in the Never Woods’ by Aiden Thomas, which follows Wendy 5 years after she came back from being missing, but without her 2 brothers or any recollection of what happened. Then Peter Pan appears and tells her only they can stop who’s taking the missing children, and perhaps save her brothers.

1137814 I read ‘Renegades’ by Marissa Meyer. I think I DNF’d it because something I had been waiting for was released, and then I kept forgetting about this one and finally just did DNF. I also didn’t get very far, so maybe it was just a combo of things. I really enjoyed it though and am looking forward to the rest of the books in the series.

Second I read ‘Cherished’ by Helen Hardt which just came out last week and is the 17th book in the Steel Brothers Saga.

Last I finished ‘Renegades’ by Marissa Meyer, which is also a DNF from my TBR list.

Week 8 (3 new)
Mar 01, 2021 06:52AM

1137814 I did not finish any books this week. I am currently reading ‘Crescent City: House of Earth and Blood’ by Sarah J Maas and I’m reading it with a friend about 100 pages a week, so I will not be done for about another 4 weeks or so. I am also currently reading ‘Kingdom of Ash’ by Sarah J Maas, which is another big book.
I’m also reading ‘The Stolen Kingdom’ by Jillian Boehme, which is an ARC I received from Net Galley.
And lastly I’m listening to ‘Renegades’ by Marissa Meyers on a play away, which is not read fast and I only can listen to when I’m working in my Etsy shop. (This is for the category of a format different than you usually read/listen).

Hopefully I can finish some books this week though!
