111707 @Ethan - The redhead gal from my old book has a rose tattoo--she's part of a group/whatever called The Dark Roses. :3

@Bisky - I'm only 5'10"-ish. *looks up* Good morning/afternoon up there, Bisky. x3 I thought I was tall until I started working at fast food, and many working there were taller than me. lol

Most of my characters are tall, too, except for my protagonist's buddy from my current story. She wonders why my character wears heels when she's already tall.

All the girls are in my stories are kind of New York City-fashionista-ish. (I'm trying to break from the habit.) They can't dress casually/normal, they always have to dress up with heels and such. And then all the guys tend to wear brown and black jackets, and everyone has to have a certain necklace. Maybe it's because I live in the Great Plains and everyone dresses so boringly here. I don't know. :3

111707 @Shelby - In media res is right. :3 While your character's in the norm, you could still stir in some conflict that frustrates her typical, typical norm. Like a typical everyday conflict.

One of your posts was posted like 3 times in a row, so I removed the 2 duplicates--sometimes the Internet likes to do dumb things. :)

@Deb - Sometimes you just have to 'kill your darlings.' :/

111707 I remember a post from this forum a while ago in which someone said something about traits of most people in certain regions. If certain 'ordinary' traits are dominant in the area that holds your setting, then it's O.K. But you have the power to influence how traits can change. :3

111707 @Deb - with college schoolwork, it's hard for me to get some writing done, too. >.>

@Michael - Sometimes short stories can group together into one plot. That's kind of happened with my current story. Or I borrow "elements" from little short stories I wrote for Creative Writing 3 years ago. :3 Salvage those pieces of gold! lol

111707 I love anti-heroes. :3 My character's halfway between a hero and anti-hero. She has some guilt on her shoulders. But in my old stories, the violence was done mostly by the bad people, but my main character was kind of dark at the beginning. When I reboot that story, I'm going to make the character a goodie-good guy whose going to be a 4th year veterinarian student and engaged to his girlfriend and have him kind of go downhill. :3

111707 @Bisky - Red socks and red hair!! @w@ lol

@Kamil - So you wrote more violet stories, too--I wonder if it's in human instinct to be violent? o.O An old co-worker of mine tried writing for a while, he wrote something very very violent, too... scary o.O lol
Sep 07, 2013 10:29AM

111707 My old book had lots of brutal scenes, including a demon slaughtering a wedding party and half the people on a cruise ship, slaughtering through a neighborhood in Barcelona, Spain twice, and through some fictional small town on the Mexican/U.S. border in Arizona. So you're not the only one who wrote more violent scenes when younger. :P - Now I laugh at it. Oh, yeah, right--walk through a pool of blood a foot deep.. xD

111707 :3

You could incorporate that into something about character description. :3

Well, for about 10 minutes I actually considered the fashion designer idea. I've actually bought a couple used books about fashion, but they are hidden deep in my dorm.

111707 Same here. Back in the day, I wrote stuff that was more 'episodic' but now I try to have everything connected. The first half of my first book was really bad. xD But the violence like with yours has stayed with me.

Ideas can be worth more than gold! :D

I'm taking an American Apocalyptic Lit. class, and we're studying the Book of Revelations and right now some of Columbus's writings that allude to the Book of Revelations--and all of these end-of-the-world themes like with the seals and the four horsemen are pounding at my head and working on ideas at the back of my mind. D8 lol

111707 @Kamil - Does she wear different wigs? :3
@Biksy - I'll let you beta read. That would be great! :D Plus the main character's into fashion, and I have a third person narrative, so she really pays attention to what people wear and makes a conclusion--so lots and lots of color. :D She isn't shallow--just has the mind of an artist. :3 (This all happened because one guy on the school paper a while ago said I should be a fashion designer o.O )

I've always had an interest in colors. xD

111707 Seems like Viking Land has higher living costs. You must really love Viking Land more than Island Land (I don't know a good name) if you will dismember someone's limb(s) to stay :3

I just remember being told writing down your goal makes it more reachable. :3

You can promote with the fan art :D

111707 I'm glad I'm not the only one who gives characters unique eye-colors. :3

I try to give variety to my characters.

In my old story, my female lead has cherry red hair (it looks dyed, but it's maybe natural because of 'experiments' done to her as a child, and her eyes are violet. Her colors I stole from an anime character years ago because I liked the red and violet combo. Plus red's my favorite color. The male lead has blonde hair and maroon/red eyes because of 'experiments."

In my current story the female lead has blonde hair with blue bangs, and emerald green eyes. I like that combo because yellow, green, and blue are beside each other on the color spectrum. Some girls in my stories have amber eyes and black hair--because I knew a gal from work with the same features.

Inspiration for characters just come randomly to me. The female lead from my old story, I've known her since 2007-2006--not sure what sparked the red hair--maybe using a red ball point pen to color her hair in ancient drawings. xD

111707 I'll keep the idea on the back burner. :3 Perhaps when I finish up Scarlet, I can write two endings just in case. I've changed the ending so many times. D8 For a while my theme was "life's a [female dog] and then you die" but now it has changed. :3

111707 Usually at breakfast I'm reading something for class or people's blogs or something. :3

I thought the school diner place opened at 11 on weekends, but it was 11:30, so I read your story while waiting. I enjoyed it! :3 I was thinking what happened at the end would happen, and I didn't want to happen. The story also shows some brutality in human nature, but the opposite end as well. :3 I'd polish it up and include it in a novel or start a book of short stories and--maybe it can go with your inspirational tweets book--a Bisky anthology. :D

Sorry, I just ate, and I'm full of energy. xD

111707 Would be acceptable to have a sequel be of a different genre? c: The first one would be more of a possible supernatural presence, and the second one would be more of a mafia-conspiracy and demon leader at work type deal. Now I feel pumped to do that now, too. xDD

111707 That's amazing! :D
You and Sarah's comments motivated me to give a goal like that a go--maybe during holiday break when the fall semester's over. :3 I see people on Twitter and here saying they have written like 3,000 words today--it make me want to try. :D

I have the reboot of an old, old story I want to work on. You start missing your old characters--and it doesn't help a poster of them is staring at me in my dorm room. xD

In much of American, it's hard to get jobs, too. >.> Unless you want to work at fast food. I did that for over six years and finally got out when I moved to college. I'm leery about after I graduate from college. D8

111707 @Annalisa - When I started writing five years ago, I always had series on my mind, but now I'm aiming for standalone stories. I think it depends on the story.

@Bisky - That's what I have planned with my story. But the sequel would deviate from the genre of the first book, though--unless something happens when I finish rewriting my first draft. The story would start with a prison break! xD

@Bisky - You wrote your whole novel in two weeks? @w@
