Lol Angela! Seriously though, I hope George starts being interesting soon - I'm really disappointed! Plus Angela is bound to run out of egg jokes at some point...

Cool - I enjoyed Mr Stink when it was on last year, it was really funny but with a good message and a bit sad at the end.

The Island of Doctor Moreau (the island is apparently in the vicinity of Indonesia so it counts)

It's not a challenge if it's easy ;)

Oooh I like the look of the challenge of the century! Good Luck :)

That was the plan - I found some really good books that I might not have read if I hadn't been looking for something set in a specific country. As I said, it was supposed to be a yearly challenge (from the group Around the World in Eighty Books) but I couldn't do it in one year with group reads and other stuff I wanted to read as well - so am just globetrotting at my own pace now. Off to Indonesia with HG Well's next!

reserved just in case ;)

(hide spoiler)]So I've been to a total of 47 different countries in sucession last year and have another 33 left to finish my circumnavigation just like Mr Fogg (After that I might fill in the gaps, haven't decided yet)

A lot of the fantasy and scary type novels that I like to read are also a lot quicker to get through than proper literary fiction so I think that helps ;) Plus I very rarely switch the telly on either!

Definitely, it was just what I needed when I read it as well, I was tired and couldn't concentrate on anything but a good, old fashioned story for kids with magic and adventure and stuff was just the ticket!

When my brain functions properly I'm a pretty fast reader lol - I made it to 178 last year so thought why not try for an even number?

I challenged myself to read 200 books this year ( as I managed to beat my target in 2013 which was 150) so here goes....

Not yet ha ha, I think we are all round about halfway through ;)

You can do it Ellie! Good Luck :)

ha ha we are all champing at the bit to start this years set of challenges and reads!

Ok cool, I didn't use it last year cos the group only started halfway through the year but will defo use it this time round ;)

Yeah, if I haven't broken at least 2 of mine by the end of New Years Day's there's something seriously wrong with me!

Are we having a folder for personal challenges and/or book lists this year?

Right now I'm reading
Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood and also having another crack at The Children's Book by AS Byatt - I've tried to read it before but gave up but having more luck this time round so far...

Got it! Lol and I wasn't going to buy any more books this year till I'd made a dint in the tbr pile..... oh well, best get started ;)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
