110415 I'm loving Dusty Answer so far, not my usual sort of read but so gorgeously written, I'm completely enthralled by it.

110415 I'm reading Dusty Answer for our monthly author choice which is beautifully written, and also trying to finish The Children's Book by AS Byatt which is not a quick read - parts of it are fascinating and other bits just drag

110415 4. Douglas Adams - Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency

110415 I have enjoyed everything I've read by Wells but my absolute favourite is The Time Machine - I read this when I was about 11 or 12 and absolutely loved it! But haven't read it as an adult so might need to re-visit it soon to see what I think now (hope it's still as good). Which audio book of his did you try Angela?

110415 I really enjoyed Alias Grace, if I was to choose a favourite of hers from what I've read so far it would be between this one and The Blind Assassin.

I'm also planning to read Mr Pip shortly as it's the next stop on my round the world trip - pleased to hear it's good (Also I love Great Expectations)!
110415 Congratulations Angela!

110415 I really thought George Orwell would be more interesting but the only vaguely interesting thing he has done is a spot of grave-robbing - I thought this was quite cool at first until I realised it was a RECENT grave - thought he was doing a bit of archaeology!

110415 I'm glad that tradition hasn't died out - I was thinking when I read this that maybe it should be re-introduced as it sounds fun! Glad you enjoyed your trip to London in the footsteps of Sam Pepys. I know hardly anything about him - keep meaning to read up on his life but haven't had time yet - but his diary is fascinating.

110415 I had my suspicions that Jeremiah/Dr DuPont told her to say that so that her sentence would get commuted, very intriguing book definitely!
110415 I started to look but caught myself and closed the page down - am trying to get through some of the mountain first. Although I did buy Obabakoak and Dusty Answer earlier because I couldn't find them in the library catalogue...but it doesn't count if they are for a group read does it?

110415 Ok well, I finished Alias Grace which was very good and am now about halfway through Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency by Douglas Adams which isn't what I thought it would be like but is quite good all the same.

110415 I've decided to go for Dusty Answer so should be starting it soon

110415 I know, they are such a bad influence! I bought so many over the Christmas period because they practically give them away but they could do with selling some time in which to read them all as well ;)

110415 Yeah it was pretty disturbing but I really enjoyed it. Alias Grace was also very interesting - did she do it or didn't she? hmmmm

110415 2. HG Wells - The Island of Doctor Moreau
3. Margaret Atwood - Alias Grace
110415 Brilliant - hope you enjoy playing with your new kindle Hilary! And that it's a nice simple process to download all your old books onto it ;)

110415 NO!!!! Please don't I have enough to be getting on with ;)

Some of those look really good though so I'm bound to end up with some of them in my mountain eventually....
