As a warning, this group is meant to be darkly humorous, and also sarcastic, silly, satirical and snarky (ah, the alteration!) so here, you might find me making jokes like "As a zombie, I find chasing blondes to be fruitless. I never know if I'll get a heavy helping of brains, if any at all" If this kind of humour offends you, I don't suggest you join. Anyway, regardless of being at the "recommended age" anyone who enjoys children's books and their subgenres, everything from middle grade to chapter to picture books, is welcome to join. Anyone over 18, regardless of gender/religion/political affiliation/lifestyle etc can join. Do I have to read the assigned book every month and participate in the discussion? No. But if you don't have time to read and share your thoughts there isn't much point in joining. Members who haven't participated after six months are subject to removal on a case by case basis. RULES 1. Relax. This is just for fun. There are no right/wrong books and no right/wrong opinions about the books. If you can't participate one month don't sweat it, everyone is busy and stuff happens. Jump in when you can and have fun with it! 2. Please keep it PG and do your best not to say things that might come across as offensive. Obviously hate speech of any kind in regards to race/religion/gender/sexuality etc will not be tolerated. 3. Please DON'T post spoilers outside of the official discussion threads! Some of us read faster than others, so please don't post plot point spoilers in the comments that will ruin the book for people! 4. Every member of the group can suggest books for the club. You can choose any book you like but please try not to pick religious, political or self-help style books so that we can avoid arguments. When in doubt, send me a message. 5. Book suggestions can be from any genre or format. They can be the first book in a series or a stand alone. They MUST be in English and available for sale at one of the major online book retailers such as Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Please try to choose books that are available as ebooks when possible and that are under 500 pages. No political, religious or self help books will be considered, period. 6. If you have comments, concerns or suggestions you aren't comfortable bringing up publicly with the group please feel free to message me!
