[close] The idea. 1. We do not necessary read one book all together. Everyone can read whatever one personally likes (I set some limits for genres though, see below). When we meet we share with others our opinions on what we read and what we learn from our books. 2. Every member preferably shares and updates her list of current readings with others. Others in the group might get inspired and read something from this list too and then the discussion during our meeting could get more exciting given more than one person knows the book. 3. We meet in less popular parks and public gardens avoiding crowds. 4. Occasionally we meet just for reading silently together. Obviously discussions and chats are always welcome too, but for this occasion reading is the primal aim. 5. There are genre limits for the group though. We read and discuss: a. Quality fiction b. Quality non-fiction c. No self-improvement, ‘getting-things-done’ books and similar, but books on mental health issues are welcome. d. Quality autobiographies and historical books, academic books, philosophy *Quality here means that books have been reviewed by literary critics in media, books have got some nominations or awards - I know, those are not always the criteria for the importance of the theme or a story, and there is a lot of marketing involved, but I just want to set some limits, so we have some common vibes in the group. 6. The club is for those who do not support any forms of prejudice or discrimination (racial, national, gender, age, disability, LGBTQ+). Just saying.
