Make #timetoread on National Readathon Day! (U.S.)
Grab your latest book and charge your ereaders, bibliophiles. It's time for the first-ever National Readathon Day. On Saturday, January 24, join readers across America to make #timetoread for four hours in solidarity for literacy. (Of course, if you live outside the U.S. and want to make #timetoread, too, please join in!)
National Readathon Day, sponsored by Goodreads, the National Book Foundation, Penguin Random House, and Mashable, is a nationwide marathon reading session on Saturday, January 24th from noon-4 p.m. (in respective time zones) and a fundraiser for The National Book Foundation’s literacy programs.
Get involved on Goodreads by pledging to read any book you’d like. Visit our Readathon Challenge to share your selection with the rest of the Goodreads community. We‘ll add the book you choose to your “to-read” shelf (if it's not already there) and also add it to a special readathon-day-2015 shelf, where you can see everyone's Readathon picks site-wide!
Maybe you’re in the middle of something so good, you want four hours to finish it. Or perhaps there’s a novel that’s been on your to-read shelf for weeks that you’ve just been waiting for an excuse to start. If you need some suggestions, we’ve also shared our list of the best books of January.
If you’d like to get involved offline, check here for a list of “reading party” events. These events will be held at libraries, bookstores, and schools across the country and have been created so the community can come together to share their love of books!
Where will you be making #timetoread this Saturday? Share it with us in the comments below!

I won't be able to read from noon to 4 pm on Saturday, but I WILL be dedicating four hours to reading when I get home from work that evening. I'll start with finishing "1356" by Bernard Cornwell.
I'll be reading Sabriel , by Garth Nix in New Zealand. Been really trying to get into this book so four solid hours of reading is going to be awesome! :)

I've been trying to add a book to this, but it's not letting me search, add, click, etc on anything. All links are apparently broken for me. I've been looking forward to this for weeks, as I first saw it on instagram, and its not letting me add a book or even search through mine? Can anyone with Goodreads please help? Is it just me?
I'll be doing a different four hours since my mom is sick, but I'll probably be finishing The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics and starting The Shadow of the Wind, because I feel like a book about books is the way to go.
Gail wrote: "Yes, why is it national and not international, since Goodreads is an international site? Seems a shame to exclude everyone not in the US."Because the association is American. Other countries can still participate or else it would say otherwise.
Besides, Penguin Publishing is British, I believe.
M. Lynn, I was having that problem and finally was able to get it to work. Are you using a device? I had tried from my kindle fire and my Windows phone.

Both devices are old with numerous issues so I have to constantly switch between them for different things. I did get it to work finally. Thank you so much for your reply.
My biggest issue now is having to go back to all my posts, comments, reviews, tweets etc to make sure t h e words "pecan pie" aren't ALL over t h e place because everytime I type T H E or N O pecan pie drops in from auto correct. It was funny pecan pie first few times.....now it's just aggravating. I can only imagine where it's at and to whom I was messaging. They must think I'm nuts. Pecan pie <-------again N O pun intended on pecan pie "nuts" part. Lol kind of.
Have an awesome time tomorrow for pecan pie #TimeToRead #Readathon day and thank you, again :)
