Announcing the Goodreads Android App!
Download the Goodreads Android app now! »
We heard you! Due to overwhelming popular demand, we've developed a new app for all you Android aficionados out there. Wander through the stacks of your local library or peruse the shelves of your favorite bookstore while simultaneously browsing Goodreads reviews. The next time you are deciding what to read, your to-read list will be handy. We're excited to make Goodreads more mobile and easier to access, and we will continue to add fun features for Android fans!
This initial version of the Android app offers:
- Check updates from your friends and those you follow
- Read friend reviews and community reviews of any book
- Manage your bookshelves
- Search our catalog of more than 8 million books
- View your profile and browse your shelves
- Find book recommendations from friends and other readers
If you own an Android device, we hope that you will give the Goodreads app a whirl. We welcome feedback, so please rate and review the app! (For iPhone users, we have an app for you too!)

Wonderful!

fabulous. i will actually remember to update my account now. suggestion: bar code scanner to add books to your list. also, be able to update profile info from app.
the application always doesnt work at all if use 2G (to save the battery) instead 3G plus no notifications if someone comments to a review to your profile
The new release 1.3.3 has just been uploaded to the Android Marketplace and should be available for download. As mentioned earlier, it should now work with Android 1.5 phones and be more responsive overall. Bonus feature, ability to add a new shelf.

I have a Cliq that is a year old and I have a problem with some of the newer apps, so I am hoping that getting a new phone will fix this... but I am super sad that I can't open it now.

Angie, did you just download the app? Please verify the app version is 1.3.3. You will need that version of our app for it to work on Android 1.5.

Ok, that was kind of weird... I went to check on the version and it told me there was an update not sure what I had before but that is what I have now... and now it works! LOL
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! How I have missed this app after switching to Android. You have made so many people happy (as you can see)! ^__^
Great to see you guys making an Android app. An addition I would love to see would be barcode reading so I can add books from my shelves to my profile easily with my phone. Also being able to get reviews from Goodreads while browsing the local book store by pointing my phones camera to the ISBN barcode of interesting books would be great.
I cant bring my account up on my Droid! I usually log on using my facebook account, but it does not give me the option to do that on the mobile version. I tried logging on with my facebook email address and password and no go. Any suggestions?
I like it, and it's a great start, but what's with the weird ordering of the shelves? Alphabetical is much more useful than number of books on the shelves. Why do it differently than on the website?Surely you've read the feedback group enough to know we Goodreads users fear change immensely.
Please submit to the Amazon AppStore so that we are assured of the lack of malware from copycats, etc.And thanks!
Downloaded it to try it out... I'm using GoodReads Droid from HACTAR SOFTWARE right now so have to compare and see if this is better than that!No GROUPS support yet!!! In either!!! :(
